Transparent overlay.

Looking for the file formats acceptable to sketchup that will display transparent sections. PNG is fine but too big a file.
-
I'm probably wrong, but I think the only format that SU accepts with an alpha channel is PNG.
+++ EDIT +++
I double checked quickly as I've only ever used PNG's.
Seems like PSD files are supported, which should have alpha channel support.

Thanks, much appreciated. PSD files I cannot do rather irritatingly and png is an immense file size (1.7mb). One of those curve balls in life.
-
Have you tried re-sampling the PNG file is Gimp / Photoshop to make it smaller ?
The size you quoted seems very big... -
Thanks, I completely forgot GIMP, I tend to stick to Irfanview for simpler stuff, of which most graphics handling is tbh.
-
Not having it, no smaller than 1.7mb. OK, it finally saved the reduced image.

Would this work? https://extensions.sketchup.com/en/content/material-resizer
