      Hi,

      Thought I'd try some animation in SketchUp so I downloaded some animation plugin from someone called Fredo. Thing is, I haven't a clue about using plugins as there doesn't seem to be any straightforward instructions on how to install them into SketchUp (I tried and I think I've installed it but I can find the menu for it in SketchUp)

      Can anyone give me a few pointers here?

      Cheers.

        ...this "someone called Fredo" is Fredo6, without whose ingenious and valuable plugin tools probably nobody here makes any step and this "someone" provides almost every tool for free ❗ ❗

        For the beginning and without more precise informations: all the Fredo6 plugins need the "add-on" plugin LibFredo6 in common to be able to run. The LibFredo6 plugin has no toolbar itself and does nothing itself but it is required to make all of Fredo6´s tools executable.

          Your profile says v8.
          This is an old version that is no longer supported by Trimble.
          I know that Fredo was/is considering stopping support for some older versions too...
          His animator is for >=v2016.
          So it won't work with your v8, even if you have his Lib installed, and you have restarted SketchUp to sync everything...

          Why not get and install SketchUp v2017 Make ?

          To install any RBZ extension archive is now very straightforward.
          Open the Extension Manager [di this via Preferences>Extensions in older versions] and select the 'Install...' button, find the RBZ and select it. It's auto-installed for you...

          It's always a good idea to restart SketchUp after complex installations so everything gets synced...

          Check the compatibility notes that usually come with the Extension itself, some only work in more recent versions of SketchUp, so if they say >=v2016 don't expect it to work in older SketchUp versions...
          However, if it lists say v2017 as compatible, but not v2018, then it'll probably still work OK in the even newer version [as it's very similar] - perhaps the author hasn't yet updated the compatibility notes to include v2018 - if it is unsuitable it's common to say so...
          Older versions like v8 use different Ruby and API methods, so the backwards compatibility if newer complex extensions is not always possible...

            I'm guessing it would be V8 (M0) since that, if memory serves, was the last free version with licencing that you could use for commercial purposes.
