SketchUp 2017 load errors
-
All of a sudden I'm having SketchUp load errors, it started on Friday evening, from opening one file to the next in the same session.
It threw out my dashboard arrangement of extension / plugins, disabled a few (I had to re-enable them manually) from menu's, and I'm getting strange load errors (see attached TXT file).
Does anybody have any ideas?

Estimator and Skalp both need an internet connection for license verification.
Although I think Estimator only prints errors, without a fail - except after some load-count limit is reached ?Have you checked your internet connectivity ?

Good call, the mobile broadband was bad on Friday night (and tonight). Although I got it earlier in the day as well when connected to wired internet (fibre) connection...

Maybe Estimator and Skalp should consider modifying their approach.
I analyzed this issue in depth and choose for my plugins to connect to my web service once a week or on demand when the user invokes check license themselves.
This provides a strategy for a number of issues.

It allows a user to go off grid for up to a week since the last web service check.
-
It provides me with a way of resetting a user account so they can lock the plugin license to a different computer. This is necessary when a computer dies / gets replaced / or the OS gets re installed or updated. If the user was less than truthful - then the original license will fail after a week which is the same time frame as my free trials.
Anyway - just my 2 cents.

I agree, having to rely on internet connectivity to validate your license is probably not a good idea. Even if you are online, what if the server you are phoning home to is having issues or experiencing some downtime.
For that reason a more reasonable approach is probably better.
