Thanks Rich.
I must be lucky. I've never had Windows Explorer crash when displaying the contents of folders containing SKPs. In fact it's open right now on my screen as is SketchUp.
Dave, lucky you, are you running win7 64bit pro?

I GO CRAZY!!! I can't even SELECT the client brief PDF without a crash,!!!

Yes. Win7 64-bit professional.
I wish I could help you. Did you do anything with that DLL file as outlined in Rich's link?

I think the problem is Baz, it only affects a small number of users with a specific setup. So pinning down what is actually causing it and working out a fix is taking time.
There have been discussions on the official forum about it but as yet no solution.
Personally I would suggest that complaining over there where they actually have some control of the software would be more productive. Nobody here is responsible for it but over there the more people that bring it to their attention the more chance of something happening. -

Why do we have to put up with a 'Workaround'?
I feel your pain.
Only thing I can say is hit them up at their place.

Is that poor punctuation, or are you trying to tell me something?
-
No, if I put the comma before Baz I would have been saying the problem was Baz.
However, I think I need to edit. -

@ Rich: "I feel your pain.
Only thing I can say is hit them up at their place."Yeah, point taken, but I'm a one forum sort of guy, actually an 'only one forum sort of guy', and I know that the team at Sketchup keep a very close eye here, so here's hoping...

Not at all, Baz. Read it this way.
I think the problem is Baz (pause) the donkey is more attractive than the sheep.
Or
I think the problem is (Pause) Baz the donkey is more attractive than the Sheep? Whose name isn't important. -

Always knew you had some kiwi in you.

Could you expand on that though Rich?
Are you on maintenance plan/subscription with SU?
Yearly release cycles means you get supported on the yearly release.
Here you get community support on all legacy releases to the best of the communities ability.
First stick you'll get beat with is the 'upgrade' stick.

(Thanks for a half hour of interreaction, I'm over my snit now. Cheers).
Onwards and Upwords.

Yep, paid every dollar asked since SU 5 with zero complaints til' now.

It was variation of one of my sometimes successful chat up lines.
As In G'day you look like you've got some Australian in you!? No! Ok then fair enough. (Pause) would you like some?

Then it looks like it is time to make use of their phone support.

yeah, but rich, lots of people have been reporting this issue for at least two/three months. its not just me. On this forum and on the Trimble groups forum...
...and the result has been NADA.so i am just putting it out there to get noticed and have a rant, i know its not your prob. but it IS a bug in the bug forum.
you suggest I call support from Australia on my 'phone'? excuse me, i have internet, why use phone and be on hold to usa for half hour?
But dont worry, somebody from SU will notice this rambling, slightly incoherent thread, hopefully, someday, soon.
Or not, as the case may be.
