I know Jeff it's ridiculous, my first thought on seeing Frederiks post title is that this one will hit the view record in no time. My experiences with the lunacy of US censorship knows no bounds, I have even been employed to rework sculptures to remove nipples and other assorted bits for the US Market.

My only crit is perhaps it needs more entourage. ๐Ÿ˜Ž I thought ladies always go to the bathroom together? ๐Ÿ˜†

That is a very interessting topic.

I use poser. which is quite similar to DAZ Studio.

I often tried to export models like Victoria 4 to SU via obj. But it was always to hightpoly. I also wasn't able to preserve the textures.

I'm very interessted in your workflow.

I also had a license of Poser v6 (which is app. 7 years ago ๐Ÿ˜ฎ ), but never became satisfied with it...
Daz3D is available for free and development have progressed since, I wanted to give it a shot and I was very happy with it... ๐Ÿ˜„

I assume you tried to import the model directly into SU using one of the OBJ-importers available... Have to say that I also had issues with the direct import... ๐Ÿ˜

...it's easy to export the model from Daz3D to OBJ and then I can use Simlab Composer to export to SU or another 3D file format...
(For this I exported to 3DS which is easy to import to directly to Thea Render...)

Indeed the models are very heavy when brought into SU...
Since I'm using Thea4SU, I can make a library in Thea, insert the model as a proxy in SU and then make the render... ๐Ÿ˜‰

                      I'm still using twilight.

What can I do to preserve the texture and texture cordinates and to reduce the mesh?

Which programm is able to do that?

Although I haven't tested it with a Daz3D and/or Poser model, Artisan has a PolyReducer tool...

good news. Can't wait for the update.

Blender... well... hmmm... I started 7 years ago to understand blender but refused everytime. may be I have to try it one more time.

I think I have to reduce the polys before importing it to SU

                            I've had success this time.

I've exported a V4 via Poser to OBJ an imported it to SU. Reducing the mesh with meshlab outside SU wasn't possible. The file has 35 MB and took over an hour to import. Unfortunately all textures were lost and I had to retexture the whole body.

I've embeded to my scene, which has also about 50 MB. Unfotunately that was to much fรผr twilight and kerkythea, the xml has over 100 MB and couldn't be loaded to the Application.

So I gave up, hoping for a better capacity of future SU- Version and hoping for the new twilght version.

I haven't tested these models with TWR, however, like I wrote previously, you can import an OBJ file direct to KT and then merge it together with your SU scene...
Really can't see what the issue is... ๐Ÿ˜•

If I had known it was that easy, I would have persevered with my copy of DAZ years ago.
I found it a bit too steep on the learning curve, so I put it away.
