Hello, I'm using 2D Fillet Plugin (is the first one) and I was never in position to change the precision of the filleting arcs. Is it possible to change it? As I noticed, default precision is 6 segments/arc, but sometimes it makes 5 or 7, but I could not find a way to control this. Sometimes I need more segments (12), or less (3).

      Thank you.

Hi, why don't you use the Fredo's Bezier spline plugin? It has a nice fillet tool with many settings (number of segments, radius etc.). You have a button and also a context menu command: convert to-->polyline arc corners.

Cool! Thanks πŸ˜„ It happens to have that plugin, but never thought to use it like that.
I just get rid of one plugin... faster Sketchup load πŸ˜†

I thought you were referring to 2dTool's Fillet tool - you weren't!
My tool fillets/chamfers [toggle between type] any two coplanar edges that you pick.
A guide-point is added at each fillet's center.
The fillets segmentation and radius are fully adjustable on the fly.
Edges are extended/trimmed to the fillet/chamfer as needed [or possible in the case of faced edges].
Setting the fillet radius to 0 [the default] makes the tool into an extended/trimmed tool.

I just tried it - it was OK - I can a 40 radius fillet between an arc and a line.
Make sure they are in the same context and coplanar... and that you pick the last segment of the arc...
Does it always crash or can you fillet two lines forming the corners of a rectangle ??

Because the fillet tool uses temporary groups during its creation process there are some rogue scripts that mess with native classes/methods [often involving groups - but usually making failures or errors rather than crashes] - e.g. SketchyPhysics, and some that add ill-advised observers that crash as the unrelated 'fillet' group is made/modified.
There is a 'quarantine list'... also some newer BIM tools use this kind of observer that breaks legit tool's operations and can crash.
Try using the SketchUcation 'Plugins Manager' to disable suspect plugins, restart SketchUp and retry the filleting.

As I say it works for me... πŸ˜•

Interesting, I always used to use 2d tools fillet...

                    I'll try TIG's Bezier too!

                    Thanks and best regards,

It may fail (but no crash) according to the arc segment length, same thing in 3D with Fredo's Round corner. 😞

In that case try a second or third segment to fillet ??

Yes I know, but if you have lots of fillet to do it's becoming very tedious.

OR... make your arcs with fewer segments.
You can always increase the segmentation later πŸ˜’

With fewer segments the arc's segments will be longer, and therefore it'll fillet OK at a radius smaller than the arc's segment length; then you can increase the arc's segmentation in Entity Info, provided it falls within the fillet end and it will still look right.

Stange. Normally Arc Corners does NOT round the corner if the radius is too large (i.e. larger thatn the 2 adjacent segments).

I have talking about BezierSpline Arc Corners.

You should not use RoundCorner for 2D filletting.
