SketchUp Hangs on Material Library

This is something that has just started with the latest release of Pro 8.0.06846
When SketchUp starts, it stops right when loading the Material dialog window and takes about 30 seconds to load and then SketchUp opens. I have a SketchUp library on an external hard drive so I am thinking its taking this time to load the library. This is totally new though because I have never experienced this before and have always had my library on an external drive. Any ideas?

I find SketchUp's opening time is much longer with certain material libraries that contain a large number of image files. It's been this way for me for a long time. Certainly since before SU8. I have developed the habit of scrolling up all of the windows which I keep out to the right of my drawing window. This helps reduce the load time substantially.
I don't really think this is a bug, though.
