Does DR Work

Is the consensus that DR works but is buggy? Would you depend on it as your normal production workflow?

Buggy as hell.
If found that on smaller models I'm more likely to get it working - but then I don't really need it. On larger I've had loads of problems. Kindof given up trying to make use of it.
This is the main issue I'm looking forward to the next update. They've fixed the problems now. (Saw demo at Basecamp)

I've actually not had that many problems with DR. With the shared assets folder enabled, it's been working pretty consistent for me. I do have a dedicated pair of machines that I only do rendering on, plus a gigabit router, so perhaps with less interference it works better.
I am really annoyed that saved Irmap does not work over DR though, that's really a pain in the tail. I like to be able to do the precalc at 1/2 resolution.

There is none, I just set my irmap min and max way low and run it normally. precalc'd irmap only occasionally works correctly on a single machine.
On the upside, I've been using vray for blender much more
proxies, instancing, domelight, and more -
Yeah, I was speaking with a friend about all those features the other day. Hopefully, soon we will see them in SketchUp.
