    I wonder if there is some plugin that when you select an object, automatically place the dimensions of it. This would serve to build detail for woodworkers. It would be interesting if it were possible to enable these dimensions only in the tab enabled or created.

      This may seem stupid to just one piece, but if you have many parts to detail with measurements, will be very handy.

        There is a problem where dimensions are not accessible to the Ruby API.

        But even if they where, how would the script know what part of the object to dimension?

            It IS possible, in convoluted code, to add a premade SKP-dimension [component] onto a given 'edge' and then explode it, BUT it won't be 'attached' to the object afterwards.
            As thomthom said it's [currently] beyond the API...
