Conical roof - how to
-
While TIG was typing I made an example using 8 staves.
I used the Polygon tool to make an octagon for the top and bottom dimensions. Then I used Auto-fold to pull the small one up to make the "cone". Next I split out a single stave from the cone by using Offset for the top and bottom and radials from outside corners to inside corners. The rest was deleted. Then I made a component of the stave and used one of them to sort out the angle.

Thanks guys, let me kinda digest what you have suggested and see if I can replicate it. I have not used the "auto-fold" tool yet. Where in the tool bag is it?

autofold is a feature of the move tool press ctrl on pc cmd on mac to activate.

Sorry. I didn't know I was introducing you to something new. Thanks to Gilles for the clarification.

Check you PMs. I just sent you one.

Figured out how to raise the roof so to speak. Now to break out one of the staves. Thanks again.

Why as the first post there is not a hand sketching introduced ?
Text is not sufficient and not speedy as a simple image -
A picture paints a thousand words...
but
A word paints a thousand pictures...
