Anyone have any idea about this one?

Does not have to be a plugin. I have seen errors like this and indeed they turned out to be some IE problems. And with version 6... Max; is there a reason you do not upgrade to some newer version of SU? (Or is it just your profile that needs updating?)

It cannot be IE9 as he still has XP and for IE9, you need at least Vista (I think) or even Win 7.

I wasn't sure if IE7 still Function. Maybe it the IE6 MS just drop
Just reload your current Browser, is that better.

pre-info
- Check event viewer for errors.
- info - Internet Exploder 9 problems can be fix by unloading back to Exploder 8 then reload 9 again. [etc to lower explorers:edited to Gaieus statement below.]
- Update Javascripts
- Exploder menu tools check filter, pop-up, and options-advance.
- Is your privacy temp area blocked for web site cookies?
- Is your sercurity level for zone set to high?
- Virus protection program blocking the script?
I then google [analytics-google.com/ga.js] and
"
Its a Tracking Snippet to Track Your Website
The Analytics snippet is a small piece of JavaScript code that you paste into your pages. It activates Google Analytics tracking by inserting ga.js into the page."
http://code.google.com/apis/analytics/docs/tracking/asyncTracking.htmlWhat web site are you going too, for the error?

I suspect it's an error caused by a plugin trying to make a webdialog with some faulty javascript code...
WHEN does it occur?
When you startup Sketchup or when you try to run a particular script ?
If it's the latter disable the culprit [move it into a 'Disabled' folder or rename it .rb! so it doesn't auto-load] and continue these discussions with the author.
It it's more general... then to find the culprit you can find all scripts making web-dialogs***... disable them all [move them into a 'Disabled' folder or rename them .rb! if there are a few, so they don't auto-load].
The error should stop - at least initially.
Re-enable them in steps until you find the culprit...
The quickest way is to enable ~50%, if the error recurs you know its in that 50%, so disable half of them, if it's still in the remainder you are zooming in on it; if it's not in the 'half' you are testing you know its in the other half! S2 if you have 64 scripts making web-dialogs you can quickly go 64/32/16/8/4/2/1 always==7 steps, otherwise you retest each ONE in turn which will take on average 32 steps, but it might only take one step if you are very lucky or thirty one steps if you are very unlucky.
**To find files containing certain textstrings the Windows search tools are pretty poor... I suggest you get 'BareGrep' [for PC, free version] or similar search tools... and search the Plugins folder [and its subfolders] for files named ".rb" and containing the text "WebDialog" [NOT case sensitive] - then all scripts making/using web-dialogs should be listed [I get ~60 out of ~1500 .rb files searched - I have a lot of scripts!!! you will probably only get a few hits in comparison - I'd also a get another ~15 matches in 350 disabled .rb! files]........... -
the script at fault is the Google Analytics service used by hundreds of websites for tracking users on the site by webmasters. basically it's being called and either the webmaster has not called it correctly or the address has changed or it's being blocked.
you've got something calling a website using GA basically.
-
Now that's all right (I also use GA on several of my sites) but why would the GA code be different in his SU installation?
(There are webdialogs in SU that are IE windows and I suspect that they give the error).
-
not the GA code but calling it. I remember they changed the URL a while back.. is that correct there? plus is it being blocked?
-
actually thinking about it, check internet options and the security level there...
-
Wow you guys are early birds.
I double click my sketchup icon and when the starting screen (with the tips and templates) appears, this message pops up. Come to think of it...I think I get a similar message when viewing models and or downloading models at 3d warehouse.
I'm not at the computer with an issue right now but thanks for the tips. I will try them out.
On another note...what would be the best forum to post a Maxwell for Sketchup question (It's another error )
Thanks again,
