How to model something like this?

HI there,I have been working on this for about 1 week,still can't figure out how to make it!!It's killing me.I really need the detailed steps of how to make this happen.

Is that the whole image, not modified? Because it seems a surface halts abruptly where the loop crosses. Maybe I am not seeing it correctly?

Yes,the pic is a little bit strange but you can understand how this shaped ,right?I don't need a detail model of it I just wanna know the idea of modeling it.

You could maybe try Spiralizer, then import the resulting mesh and further edit it in SU

[CASF]FunShapes.rb[ http://rhin.crai.archi.fr/rld/plugin_details.php?id=59 ] has a 'horn' option so it makes this kind of thing, you can then rotate/move/erase/add/adjust as needed... -
handlez, I made a quick video but can't upload until after lunch... stay tuned.
I used all native tools, no plugins... well until the end when I subdivided it to make it much smoother
