      im rendering a building, vray shows black patches at junctions. what should i do? I checked the model but it's fine.

        that's IMO either Ambient Occlusion in render settings or a dirt pass in the material.

        I'm using SketchUp 2017, V-Ray 3.4

          here's my ambient occlusion setting. what is the optimum setting that one should use??

            As eidam655, did you put a dirt diffuse on your material ?

            SU2019 pro 19.3.253 + VRay 4.00.02 (Next) on Win10-64Bits

                well that works. πŸ˜„ the defaults are OK. do you people use defaults for ambient occlusion.?? i actually needed very sharp lines of edges

                  Some times I reduce the amount to 0.4 or 0.6 - depending on model. Rarely need to increase it.

                  Might adjust the radius as well on occasion.
