Hi Guys. Say, is there a folder or something that contains the list of recently opened files. When you click on FILES, the list is at the bottom left of the screen. I want to extend this list over a period of say a week or so. Any way to do this? Thanks for any information.

fwiw, on mac, there are a few different ways..

            1. system prefs ->general.. for 'number of recent items', increase the amount of 'documents' (up to 50)

            2. that's a global setting ^^ (all apps will up the recent items amount).. you could also edit the sketchup .plist file to change only the amount of recent items in sketchup (and you can probably make it more than 50.. haven't tried it though)

            3. an alternative-- just use finder.. type .skpin the search field then sort by 'Date Last Opened' which will show every .skp on any connected drive in order of their last opened date.. (or you could also sort by creation date, name, size, date modified, etc..)..

3b)you could also make a smart folder with finder which, when opened, will automatically show all .skp on the system in order of last opened date..

Hi guys. Sorry it took so long took so long to get back to you. For some reason, I never get any notifications that someone has replied. Maybe someone could suggest why I don't get them.

Anyway, about the OS. Win7 with Sketchup Pro8

Ok, thanks for the ideas. I'll try each one and see which works for me.

              I appreciate it.

Did you mean Windows Recent files, or SketchUp recent files? SketchUp stores its recent files in the Registry:

                HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Google\SketchUp8\Recent File List

Not sure if there is a length limit, or where it may be stored.

                Hi

Sketchup files. Ok, about the Registry. 😲 Yikes. I don't think I'm that computer tech oriented to go into the Registry. Sounds scary. πŸ’š

Oh well, I guess I'll have to maintain a list by hand, like in notepad or something. I work on so many projects, going back to one from last week is difficult to remember I was working on it. Old age memory sucks. πŸ’š But thanks. I appreciate the info anyway.
