SketchUp 8 M2 is out!

And FYI, the install was quick and seamless.
-
It's the "better ruby script installer" which lights up my world. This will make SketchUp a far more friendly tool for those in the classroom! For once I can start getting kids and teachers to install plugins without having to get all technical with them!

no performance upgrades ... Why WE are no surprised??
The world is moving forward you know ... Sk is not a SIMPLE software to redraw images and upload the models to google earth!! its been used around the globe to make BIG projects!!!
-

i'm waiting to see what the ruby writers think about the new hooks(?) and rbz

So many support issues are due to installing, now we can point to official Google docs the presents the Install Extension button.

You're absolutely right- SketchUp IS being used around the globe to make big projects... and I've seen some really amazing ones. If you've got a big project that you're particularly proud of, I hope you'll consider sharing it with us.
As you've seen me say before, performance is always important and it is something that we work on pretty tirelessly. All users benefit from improvements in this area. That we didn't mention anything specific in the release notes shouldn't be taken as evidence that we've forgotten how important it is to you.

i can now open supro on different computers and they both run without one being [EXPIRED]
probably something to do with the pro trial not reverting to free now..

SU8M2 doesn't change the .skp file format, so the previously-released SU8 Viewer is still compatible. No need to download/install a new Viewer for SU8M2 files.

Just watched the video for Advanced Camera tools. Totally blown away. And to think I actually got laughed at architecture school for using SU.

Just tell them to produce anything comparable in the same time. Sit down side by side to two computers with the same task. The idiot having laughed previously will have the grin frozen on his face.
(Ah well, I did this with a client once when he had a phone call and left for about 20 minutes. I built his design during that time - and the "competitor" had previously worked on it for two weeks)

Well I produced this: https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-0QJyr1PBXN8/R3OMq2wYXpI/AAAAAAAAAg4/blNEiDJO9A0/s800/Alex_Explode.jpg
'How did you do that? Rhino?'
'SketchUp!'I personally believe architecture schools across the world should be teaching SU to students by week 2.

[and i could of used it a couple of times already ] -
Sounds great, but I think I'll wait until any bugs show up and get fixed. Same way with Windows updates, occasionally they cause more problems than they solve.

The bugs are fixed, that's why it was in beta, so no probs it's good to go.

Well, I'll trust your judgement and go for it, but only because it's you

Some Google, and all others. it seems.
I was using them at the time and went to switch tools...

To me, what you've done in M2 is great, especially the plugin/extension improvements for both users and authors.
