you need the converter tool that's listed here? http://spot3d.com/vray/misc/tools/vsketchup.html In the future, I would recommend using the Chaos Group forums when you really need support for V-Ray for SketchUp, I believe this question has been answered before on those forums. SketchUcation is great for users interacting with each other, but if you need some sort of technical support for the product, I would really recommend that you ask the folks that make it, in addition to asking everyone on this forum πŸ˜‰

you dont need converter. you just save it directly in exr.. I made also a tutorial here. http://nomeradona.blogspot.com/2011/08/tutorial-how-to-render-extra-huge.html

For saving channel information other than alpha you do need the converter. Unfortunately that's not working past 1.48.99

This is the latest converter that was sent to me from Chaos, not sure if its going to work with the latest version. I have not tested it out yet. Let me know how it works.

They sent me this file a couple of weeks ago. I figured it was going to be old. Best advice is to stay away from VRIMG and go with EXR if you really need to go about this method to save memory. I want my channels for post processing, so I never use this method. I got burned once and never did it again.

This converter just saved my life. It does work with 1.49.01 but you dont get the channels. I accidently ran an overnighter and forgot to set it to EXR! Thought I was screwed. but this did the job.

hmmm. Did you have any channels selected besides RGB color?

You know, I may have not. Why? Does this converter export the channels? I thought it was not doing this in this version.

That's what I mean, I think the channels may be what is messing up the vrimage. When I have alpha channel selected, the resulting vrimage won't convert correctly to exr. Good to know that it works with only the rgb channel.
