Copied window frames fade away

Hello every one,
I have a very simple rectangle set on 35Degrees "A wall panel.
I have drawn a window frame into this using the scaling tool.
I have painted it with a wood finish and the wall with a simple color.
When I select the window frame and use the copy method(+)- i move the
window in position a few meters away on the same wall.
Result... colors.. wood... have in some part disappeared and in others faded - I have endeavored to repaint these but this does not work - what am I doing wrong please?

It would really be useful if you could post at least a screen shot of what you're getting. Without anything visual to go by, my guess is your copy isn't really moving along the wall but you are moving it slightly behind the wall. That's only a stab in the dark without some images or better, the SKP file to look at.

I will try and upload a print screen - the actual
a sketch up file seems to take forever -I gave up on this.

Hans, in your second image it appears you have two faces sharing the same space and the graphics card is trying to figure out which to display. this is referred to as "Z fighting".
I don't see the windows "fading" but perhaps with the model I could tell. Would you try again to upload the SKP file? Or put it on the 3D Warehouse and post the link.

If the file is too big for some reason (should not at the first sight by the images), try to purge unused elements under Window > Model info > Statistics (at the bottom) then save and upload again.
What Dave says seems to be the issue - somehow you managed to put several faces on top of each other.

BUT here it is anyway...
The 'z-fighting' when two materials 'twinkle' is caused when you have two coplanar [or near coplanar] faces .
So you seem to have some 'walls' with two [or more] faces
Check if you have coincident groups/instances giving you two faces overlaid...Some windows are cutting faces OK BUT others are not!
Have you some groups/components and other groups/components or faces overlaying them?
Also it looks like you have applied windows onto faces that are inside groups/component... so although it might 'glue', it will NOT 'cut' a hole - therefore the window's 'glass' will z-fight with the wall face that is inside its group. If it is a gluing component, but it is not 'cutting type', then it will z-fight even if the face and component are in the same 'entities context'.
So, always apply a gluing+cutting-component onto the face that is in the same 'context' [i.e. edit the group/instance and then insert/glue the windows on faces inside it - the windows will then cut holes in the faces they are glued onto].
