I find it much effective to place the blueprints like thisbp.jpg

Then ..the easiest way is to start with the main shape/shapes,in this case the front shape and the rectangular rear shape.1st step.jpg

Then start to give some depth to those shapes.2nd step.jpg

Lets see how u manage so far .

          Cya!

That will depend entirely how you model it. With polygon restraints make sure to adjust the number of segments of the arcs and circles you draw.

The way i started it ,it can go up to 5000 or more .For 1000 it has to be very low.At 5 segments i did u have to do 1 . All the thing with low poly models is good texturing;if u have that then u can make it under 1000.

                Take care!

I think it's really good for the polygon-ness of it...
Particularly if it's a brief glimpse of the pickup and it's not 'center-stage'.
Also - if the limit is 1,000 poly's per object then why not make the 'cab', 'tail' and 'wheels' as three separate 'linked objects' and then move them 'as one' - all together? That way you get the polygon count AND the sub-objects can be made to move 'as one' in the 'game' ???

I don t know how this shoe-box method works ,what i did though,it s pretty easy,u need to push pull the exterior, round the geometry a bit and apply the textures from the blueprints.

It's practically the same way you did it (simply saying; aligning the images - photos or blueprints - perpendicular to each other).

ely862me, I really like the way you handled that model. And as TIG says, it would be perfect if it isn't the object of interest in the model.

In reality the blueprint was like that.
