Get together before base camp
-
Reminds me of Steinbecks "Cannery Row" where Doc goes into a cafe and orders a beer float. Beer and Ice cream. Of course we had to try them, and they were bloody awful.
He told the waitress he had bipalychaetersonectomy and it was Doctor's orders. -
I think I'll give that a miss. Some things shouldn't be mixed, like nuts and gum. The person who invented 'Beer-ita' deserves a Nobel Prize.... Make that a Darwin Award
-
count me in lol!
-
I'm happy to be in the audience, Pete; maybe second row. The front row may need a mop and bucket.....

Hi folks.
I finally found a way to come to Basecamp 2010.
I will arrive in Denver International Airport around 1:43 PM on Tuesday August 31st. So I shall have plenty of time to get to the bar for 5 PM.
One more Frenchy accent to mix with the lot.
It will be nice to see so many faces from the 2008 Basecamp as well as getting to see new ones.
See you soon.
-
So I just checked with the Baker Street Pub. They are all set for us. I won't be their until later, so whoever shows up first can just say your with the Google or SketchUp group. They also have my name which really isn't DavidBoulder. It is David Goldwasser.
Sorry Pete, I forgot to check on the beer-rita. You'll just have to take that up with the bar-tender.
See everyone in a week.

That's great news Jean

That's great Jean. Would you believe you were one of the original names i recall from my first foray into the SU world on the old SU forums along with the Mayor, Ross, Susan, Grant and others [what the hell happened to the almighty Grant anyway?]..
Be nice to meet you.
EDIT: I fly in after 4pm on Tuesday so I'll be there just as soon as I [and Eric L, I think] can get in a cab to the hotel, exit cab / drop bags, grab wallet / enter cab and make a bee line for Baker street.
-
Indeed, good news, Jean. Looking forward to seeing you again!
-
So are most people staying at the Best Western or the Marriot? I am staying at both... (Not at the same time however)
-
Looks like msot people are in the Best Western. But the two are close, so it should be pretty easy to get back and forth I would hope.

Andrew and I offered to help drag those who can't make it on their own.
-
Looking forward to see you guys... two days left and then I will be airborne
Just a question: how easy is it to walk around in Boulder? I read about it, it seems that Boulder is very pedestrian friendly..

Finally I got my travel arrangements sorted out.
Looking forward to meeting all you guys at the Pub.
Hopefully there will be someone still there when
I arrive. -
Looks like there are many folks from here attending, folks we have chatted to for years and never met. How will we recognise each other? Some of us are using images as avatars which should help, but those who do not are gonna have to stick a SCF name tag so we can match faces to forum names.

Well i'll be an easy spot - unshaven, unkempt and ginger Irishman. If in doubt, follow your nose...
