Cheers Oli,
Someday soon I hope to use it in a render!!! I will be looking some guidance so keep your ears peeled!! -
Downloaded, and I was working with your treeline in Thea. Clip map worked perfectly, and it was just what I needed for the scene.
Thanks, I really appreciate this. -
Thanks for sharing this, Oli...

No worries guys. Like I said, I will post some more when I have made them.
I'm glad it worked out for you Dale
Yeah, cool Dermot looking forward to it. remember you can layer these PNGs so you can have loads of other trees in front of this tree line.
It's supposed to be used to ambiguously fill out the background really.

Thanks Oli! I think I can make use of this in some upcoming projects.

Very Nice Oli. Thanks bro..this will be very useful!
-
its all good! and thank you earth mover for your scf plants. very kind of you.
-
The patience you have taken to clip the little holes through the trees really makes a difference. Thanks again.
-
Thanks Oli, these are fantastic. I will try one out on a project this weekend.

Quick Vue treeline, in .png.

Nice work Oli. In a similar vein, I've been using the planetarium program, Stellarium, for quite a while. One of its features is that it displays the sky from a realistic ground perspective...by using 360Β° panoramas. There's a whole bunch of them here, which have been submitted by users. They are all either single pngs or a group of 8 that butt together, so can be easily stitched. They all have the sky already removed (so you can see the stars, obviously), so will work fine in SU using its ready made graded sky.

ah I see alan. some have halos around trees though which is a shame. great link though, vast resource. gonna have a play with some now.

I just used a leaf brush in photoshop with high scatter. no exact science to it really. just quick and dirty! I will make a few more.
good one pete

It's probably best to leave the groups of 8 as separate images and also chop up the single images...because of the havoc wrought by SU's OpenGL on imported images larger tham 1024.

lol tell me about it!
here is a teaser screen-grab of another I am working on. Got 4 more on the way, watch this space!!
have a good weekend guys
