Dumb question - components
-
I remember in windows to save a component I'd go through the programs windows. How the hell do I save a component on a mac.
I have drawn a bunch of 2D parts for repeat use, I'm using SKP 7 on a macintosh. I have tried drag an drop but am a little confused there appear to be two components windows.
While were on the subject how do you delete components, or even better reset sketchup
thanks for any advice.

File/Save. Delete everything not in the component you want. If the component is grouped or already a component, explode it.
File/Save As ... compname.skp
Reload model. Delete everything in the component. Save.
File/Import ... compname.skp. It will be turned into a component, named "compname" in your model.
More generally, build components as freestanding models. Think like a well-organized office manager as you put them into sensible folders with well-chosen names. Then model with lots of File/Imports.

Right-click context-menu should have 'delete' as an option for a selected compo's icon in the model pane of the compo'browser.
Similarly 'save_as...'
Save as collection etc etc etc...............
