Render this: NPR Lighthouse
-
Yup, this has been a real fun one, who knew how many artsy-fartsy members we had?, I actually enjoyed doing these NPR renders/paintings, we really should do more like these as it could be a great way to develop new skills.

This is my artist impression of Solo doing the caustic thing..whatever..but only this time the caustic is in the sea.
Special thanks to Solo for making great threads!
Render for half hr.

Bought that many years ago in a flea market. It was cheap and the seller told me that it was painted by an obscure talented belgian artist. I know, he probably swindled me out. In my opinion the painting it's a worthless daub and, plus, the glass is broken! But the frame alone is worth the price I paid...

Trying something new...mixed-media:

Looks like snow. Nice.

Some more tries... anything not to do real work!

Wonderful Andre, the atmosphere on those is perfect. All these pictures are so great. Where's that bowing-down smilie?
Tom,
That's beautiful, but where's the damn chair?
Peter
-
Andre, both are Wow! Especially love the Van Gogh sky in the second one!
Peter...chair? (Sure it isn't there? :`)
-
Chair is there, just does not float well.
I need to do work, this is so distracting.
SU only, Painter 11, and Wacom tablet

Thanks Troy - easy Vue and simple paint program called Virtual Painter
-
This is fun! Thanks for the interesting subject, Pete!
A classic red & white lighthouse this time...SU + Twilight + Photoshop filters + Picasa(soft focus) ...Here is how I did the post-processing for those of you who wish to know
-
And one more for my bedroom wall.
-
Although that I'm not a huge fan of Andy Warhol, that's really nice dspace...
-
Another.
-
Now, Adam, I said to myself "what a f*** beautiful and cool render this is"
...but then 2 things:
- IF the lighthouse is of "THIS" size, the other side of the image MUST be out of scale
- it is getting twilight - why is there no light in the lighthouse?
But man, I really need to find these faults deliberately - the image is SOOO nice (otherwise).
But you know - everyone is being picky here...
-
You're absolutely right Gai on both points. I didn't realize how out of scale it is until you said that. I just inserted the lighthouse model into a scene set up by someone on the Modo forums to show volumetric light, rendered it and changed the color balance to a more dramatic look. The lighthouse should be a hell of lot larger.

Depending
if the lighthouse is scale model of an ex voto on a table that can be possible
