modelhead, i use sk7 free so no style builder for me... though you're correct, one easy way is to make a custom line (like in cad program) and make a curve afterwards using it...
but what i'd like (because we could use it with 2d or 3d objects) is some trick that picks first and last points of the shape and use a line (straight, curved, tridimensional, whatever) where to place that points

          Shape bender works fine
          Just trim extremities 😉

with shape bender it's possible to make this without minimal distortion (according to initial shape) only if you put the group of shapes along the reference line; if not, shapes will bend according to the radius of the curve...

So therefore the need to group. Grouping also eliminates the need to trim anything as the groups stay intact

Cool so just ungroup at the end and kill the line ☀

              Edit you can't 😳
all lines result are in a same group 😞
So something to ask to Chris 😄

Because even his tricky Plug "Select line by length" don't work in this case for kill some lines!!! 😮
You must use it in several time 😉

I am currently in need of a similar thing as I want to copy a series of vertical battens to wrap around a curved wall.
A 'copy along path' ruby which rotates the instances with the curve radius would be a nice thing to have...

Copy along Path with Rotation hasn't got perfected yet... If the path is an arc then you can Rotate+Copy the battens but otherwise it's a manual adjustment...

Thanks TIG for the info. I hope it will be available in the future. Especially for architecture and curved facade stuff this would be very useful.

May be this: Perpendicular Face Tools by Chris Fullmer can take place in the tool box we need for that kind of work 😉

[Request]: It should be time dear Rick (Wilson) to improve this excellent and necessary PathCopy.
