The VUE thread
-
This is great in Vue. However... So however, the draft would "suck" the plants towards the vehicle instead of blowing them away when it passes by. But I guess that's also feasible.
-
I really think that VUE would be useful in my office for when we have projects with lots of landscape. I just need the time to get into it.
-
I'm also planning to use it (or better to say "get it used") on a certain project. BTW Pete, I didn't forget - it's just slow response from the client.
-
I'm downloading the PLE now.
While I wait; I tried the free version, and rendered a simple terrain and some clouds but even at the highest render setting the render turned out grainy. I couldn't find any "advanced" settings to fine tune.
Is the free different from the PLE/all the bangs and whistles-editions? -
When you have the PLE I will walk you through the settings as you did for me with Vray on how to get a crisp render.
-
Thanks! I'll look at some of the video tutorial first, (if I can make them work,... seem to be flickering without audio on my machine..)
-
Do I want to install the 32bit version of the product too? Is there any need for that?
-
Not sure what you mean, do you have 32 bit or 64?
I have 64 bit and not installed the x86/32bit version.
-
I run Window7RC 64bit. It asked me if I wanted to install 32bit. I said no.

Drive by, turning wheels.

Please oh please make this conversation public when you have it. I've had the PLE for about a month now and I've played with it enough to like it, but I still have problems with render quality and I'd like to get up to professional level myself!

Will do dat!
Another test, this time animated texture changes.

meh? I just downloaded the PLE and I get 7.0... ?
-
I'm trying to import a .skp file into VUE7. The .skp is saved in SU6 format. But I get an error message saying it can't read file.
Any requirements to the .skp in order for it to import? -
Hmmm, not sure about the PLE version, cannot find anything on the site so far.
Anyway. seen this? Vue used in Terra X movie.
-
I seem to be completely unable to import SU6 files. But SU5 seems to work. With simple test scenes it works fine, but when I try to import a real project I find many things misplaced upon import. Any clue to how to circumvent this?
-
Does VUE not handle nested components/groups?
-
It does, all my SU models have nested groups and components and it works great with Vue, I however export as .3ds and open up in Vue, I do not use the .skp import.
-
.3ds worked more reliably.
