Google SketchUp User Happiness Survey
-
They ask is you are a pro or free user then below that they have a block and ask if you are a free user what feature would make you consider purchasing pro and if you are a pro user what feature would you like to see.....or something like that.

I found it curious there was no mention of Layout.
Though I requested improvement/further developement of the Layout module.

Good to see Google are doing stuff like this, although I agree, the questions could be much more specific. It's hard to see what they can really glean from that. Glad that their trying though

Wonder if we'll get some feedback on the surveys. What the team thinks of the response...

I requested some better UV tools, someway to unwrap models

I have no idea of anything even close to programming, but If google could make the SU base code as a 'template' which could accommodate all the great plugin developers, I feel like a lot of people could get more out of SU. I know the Ruby masters could develop great UV and other modeling features (bend!) if the underlying architecture allowed for it. That way, the program could be both a basic modeler for GE and its more sophisticated users.
if that never happens, the SU to Modo work flow works pretty well. Modo is great, its just not sketchup.

I have decided not to participate as I can't fill in the first screen correctly/honestly. They don't have my profession nor an industry. To make matters worse they also don't offer an "Other" to fill in the blank. I have never understood why they don't include IndustrialProduct Design since there are 50K of us in the US and lots more the world over. Every ID person I know uses SU.

damn, the survey has been closed already
-
They need to include that british guys lighting plugin that costs 150 bucks to buy it separately
things like that would make people WANT to pay for the PRO versionas it stands now the PRO version does not even have the components pack installed
what kind of value is that? -
That British guy is the brilliant Adam Billyard, a regular on the forums (AdamB)
And I go back and forth on whether I think SU should implement lots of new features, or leave it to developers, or have rendering, or not, etc. But lightup is definitely one of the great 3rd party apps out there.

My vote is for more power to the core and API.
