Must Have Ruby Plugins - Visual Index (Discussion)
-
Nice to have a separate thread for this. I didn't want to post in the original and add noise to it in case the list was expanded.
Very good idea of the visual index, but it'd be nice if it was expanded to more plugins. Maybe a community project?

Excellent idea and the example makes things so much easier to understand

c`mon guys. This is an example thread only! Please mods delete this discussions you've started here and hold the thread clear...

This thread is separate from the Visual which is here: http://www.sketchucation.com/forums/scf/viewtopic.php?f=180&t=16909
The discussion was split, hence why the title of this thread is: "Must Have Ruby Plugins - Visual Index Discussion Only"
-
I met the original topic only by a reference from someone else and before saw this one (split off), I answered there. Thus Burkhard's post and then I finally split our posts as well and merged with this one. Yet Coen has already answered there ever since, too, and it seems that it will be impossible to keep the topic tidy unless we keep splitting the posts off.

Maybe the examples thread could be locked and unlock on request? It would only be a minor inconvenience.
-
Lock it then Jim (this is your realm here) however mods can post in locked topics as well.
-
Gaius you can delete my post before somethings mistaken.
He,he, there are only mods who break this thread. So no need for lockingSeriously, I would lock the thread and let people upload this tutorials here so that the mods can move it in the right direction. Just give a hint in the topics / threads or stick this too
It is a great idea, similar to the pushpullbar thread.

Too many referring posts already

That's also a good idea. (Jim?)

Very good idea theses small tuts. I agree a separate thread for discussion too
Would be useful to identify the plugin with its graphical symbol ( eg: sorry I'don't find the right ones)

I think this is a great way to showcase plug basic functions. There are so many, that it gets mind boggling trying to figure out which one I need, what the point of some of them and what is the difference or advantage of one over the other. If you don't use them often enough to have them down pat-like me - this is a good memory jog (I need as many memory jogs as possible) Hope it can be expanded - nice maybe to add to the side bar of the Ruby Depot listing in the tut column.
This is a great help - thanks

that exist on PushPushBar2 but with only images not moving
-
I would be nice if these GIFs could be incorporated into the original posts of the corresponding plugins.
-
I think windowizer is fantastic free tool to include in the post catalog:

Dear Daniel,
Great idea!
You are certainly not going to accomplish all this work by yourself. This would be too much!
Please give us here a convention to do the same as you made these first ones. In order why we will be able to post here our prefered ones..

The idea is to show what the plugins can do in few seconds (Sometimes this is difficult like with SketchyPhysics so I post a video).
For me the format is not important. But it will be nice if all looks similar.
The ones I made are in .gif format.
The Dimensions I use: 320 x 240 (Width x Height).Daniel S.

Will these plugins work on the mac version as well?
-
yes, there are very few plugins that are PC specific.
-
Ahh yes thank you for the reply.
I figured out how the idea of ruby works. It's brilliant, imo, that Google uses this rather then "installing" plugins in the traditional form. This way, as you said, very few plugins are PC specific. I swear, Google impresses me more and more everyday
