20 ruby's you can't live without
-
Being faster is better in the profession, we should start a list of the top ruby's that made your life easier. Start off by explaining how they made your life better.... ie a real world modeling experience (I took 20 hours to do this vs. 4 hrs with a script). If anybody knows how to make a survey that adds everyones votes that would be great! If I am repeating a previous discussion feel free to drop, drape, and kick my asss!

There are so many good new scripts now but one I use very frequently is "Put on layer."
Without it my models would be a mess. With it I can hide large portions of geometry while modelling and turn their layers on when i need too.Another incredible one is of cause "Joint push pull." This is one of those "how did we survive without it" scripts.
And "Left click reverse faces." Simple and quick it does what it says.
And...and...and...
I'd better stop now and leave some to you.
-
it may sound trivial - but the select instancesscript (not sure, if this is the proper name).
if you have one component selected, right click on it and "select all instances" to have every copy of the component in your selection.
if you have a lot of copies of one component (trees in a forrest for example) it is so easy to select all of them...

Draw on surfaces it's a huge time saver and makes possible editing surfaces easier in conjuncture with joint push pull ....in fact those plugins i use most often
-
Id probably have to go with:
Joint push/pull
Tools on surface
Whaats subsmooth plugin
Centrepoint scriptThe first 2 greatly speed up tihngs that were already possible in SU, and are as easy to use as any native SU tool, just how it should be. SUbsmoth adds an entirely new level of funcion to SU, so you cant go to wrong with that. And finally the centrepoint script does what SU should do, but doesnt, for whatever reason.

There are so many great ruby's available, however there are a few I use daily and others that I use specifically. I will say that 'Purge all' is my most used ruby for my day to day works and 'subsmooth', 'JPP', 'Surface tools' and 'FFD' used for all my freeform work (organics)
-
I probably use mirror selection more than anything.
Set center point
beziersplines

Guys, I wonder if the info / comments being offered here
could be turned into a future poll to establish a User

I use very much 45ºShadows plugin for elevations, it's very fast and you don't have to move shadows and sun for each view
