Kristoff, I was looking through some of plans on your website, and especially the curved walls made me think if you are aware of hempcrete. It's quite an amazing building material that handles curves beautifully. This video provides a good introduction. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sVlYDWr31fQ&feature=player_embedded Thanks again, Fred

I am currently working on modelling my town: Hummelo, the Netherlands in around 1900. I have started an blog in English about it recently: http://serrarens.nl/en/. More information on the models can be found in Dutch: http://serrarens.nl/nl/. If you're interested I can try to upload some pictures. My ultimate goal is not the model itself, but to relive the history as realistically as possible. For that reason, I am using the models in combination with the Unity3D engine to get a interactive environment. I expect to be working on this for at least another year to complete. Pascal Serrarens.

Oh at least the main big uprights and the lintels, what a sight that would be, that is, if all the pieces are still there on site. I emailed E heritage with my question, I'll let everyone know if they reply.

Coincidence or what? Just saw a 60 Minutes Report on Familia Sagrada. Still amazing. And I got a better insight into Gaudi's purpose and one family's desire to complete this structure.

Well I used Corel Draw X3, and figured out how to do borders, Effects > Create Boundary. then I did > Publish To PDF. Looked at the pdf full size and it looks pretty good. before I Published it, should I have done anything to the file, like Combine with Background, or Flatten? looking back at what I did, should I have done anything differently? It is simply to do with the fact your are in the US and the server is in Germany. If there is lots of US visitors then you may experience slow speeds. In the EU it is zippy. We are exploring CDN or mirroring for the US but this cost $$$ per month. If more US members can confirm Joe's speed tests then we will seriously look at it. But so far the amount of complaints is on 1 hand. Run a poll, hold a survey...I really want our US visitors to enjoy the site as much as possible but we need more feedback

He was Dylan but better... I think he was his own worst enemy as it's said. I think he would have been big if he would have given himself to the hollywood lackies. faced the audience and such. However his music was too pure. I don't think he could bring himself to do it. As his daughter said he gives away everything he gets. Music and Money. True artist.

@micione said: A curiosity. Yesterday ended the famous "Carnival of Viareggio." All the allegorical floats were focused on political satire, national and European. This, in particular, captures well an important aspect. The float, titled "Power in the mask," presents five harpies with his face hidden by a mask and various hats, a symbol of the power of the church, the monarchy, the armed forces, the judiciary and the multinationals: they are to maneuver the political class to to take action favorable to the dark arts, especially in economic and financial … Thanks Roberto for the image. Its says a lot!

@gilles said: @mike lucey said: Good Luck to them ....... they are brave lads and lass! IMO Germany is not very bi-lingual and France is quite anti bi-lingual. They should go down well in The Netherlands as the Dutch and very bi-lingual. I wonder why they gave their obvious audiences a wide berth, the UK and Ireland? Not true, just lazy. Isn't laziness a form of anti work?

How about**"Mea Maxima Culpa"**unfortunately this documentary can't be viewed outside Canada, which is a shame, and very relevant today, particularly since a bunch of criminals are going to be engaged shortly to elect the next head of a church. http://www.cbc.ca/passionateeye/episode/mea-maxima-culpa-silence-in-the-house-of-god.html#socialcomments That was awesome! a must see, and a true story not a theory.

I can imagine a collective exclamation from all of us responsible for global warming saying: "Oops, sorry, my bad". (Of course I don't actually know that global warming had Anything to do with this, but it surely seems representational)

John, If you have to go to France I'd suggest you travel on the TGV! I've been to France on a number of occasions and while enjoyable enough, I found the trips ..... well ...... a little boring! I found that unless one is fairly fluent in French, one's efforts at speaking French tend to be frowned on and one can be made feel uncomfortable. Now, I'd suggest you re-think your European Trip and hit Ireland first as this year Ireland is hosting The Gathering! http://www.thegatheringireland.com/ I'm sure there are is possibly a pint or two of Irish blood in you somewhere John! There is a branch of the Clements Family here in Ireland, http://www.houseofnames.com/clements-family-crest You could look them up! Mike
