We've had eight years of "folksy" and "quaint". I know which way my little feet are running to vote.

Here is the Architects website... go to Projects profile and type in OCAD. There are photos of the building and a few of the interior. I am an Alumni here and may be able to get you some more info. http://www.alsoparchitects.com/ Cheers.

@greyhead said: Hi James, you might want to go to the source and check out http://www.bioresin.de Bob, Thanks. I did find the bioresin.de site earlier this week. The trouble is my Spanish doesn't help much there. However, I did read some of their product spec sheets that were in English. The spec sheets listed wildly different qualities and working conditions than those listed on the Canonbury site, which concerns me. Someone pointed out to me that Canonbury is most likely not the manufacturer of the product I seek. If I can find a U.S. distributor, my actions will be much more sustainable (seeing as that is the whole focus of my project). From what I've turned up is that most, if not all, of the research has been done in Europe. This leads me to believe that the particular product I want is only commercially available in Europe. There are bio-plastics here, but not the kind I need. I guess I will have to bite the bullet and just call them.

@unknownuser said: @chango70 said: I believe a new, more flexible way of political representation is urgently needed for mass Democracy to have any relavance for post-industrial societies. What do you mean by this? What kind of flexibility do you have in mind? Like I said before the problem resides in political parties voted in and making decision RE-PRESENTING you, the voting public. To use a example I used before as society become more diversified party representation becomes increasingly too simple to truely represent the spectrum of opinions. I have no ready solution to any of this. What I do know is that in order remain relavent our current democratic system will have to go through some changes to accomodate these changes otherwise we will continue to see a erosion of voting numbers (I consider anything below 50% national turnout to be void). Technology could offer us a solution. In some scandinavian countries like Demark. Electronic voting have been tried. The basic infrastructure of internet also offer great many potential for increased transparency and openess as well as direct participatory Democratic decision making. Government need to be allowed to experinment.

I have fixed the broken link in Mike's post. @tomsdesk said: I tried the link and of course I got the "you are not authorized" page. When the forum changed I tried to join several of the language forums and it wouldn't let me. Can anyone help me out? I really miss this part of the world...in fact, I would love to have them all represented again when I hit "New Posts". Tom, are you saying you cannot join via your User Control Panel? (Note that for some reason it only allows you to join one at a time so you may need to join one by one).

Well I'm glad I kept my comments at bay last night and cooler heads prevailed. I will say, calmly, I don't think it is okay to dispise, especially whole groups of people (yes, I do it, no, I don't like it...even in my personal playground). And I don't think Jesus thought(thinks?) it's okay either...at least from what I've read anyway...? (This recurring incongruity really trips my trigger!)

@pbacot said: Yes, I don't listen to most of the media in the US. Right wing fascists. I get my news from the BBC. Here's a comment from across the pond, courtesy of BBC. It's the bankers I feel sorry for, losing all that money. How humiliating it must be for them. My heart goes out, too, to the politicians who have been saddled with this crisis; George Bush, in particular, who's made so many personal sacrifices for the American people. If things get worse, he may be forced to sell one of his oil wells. And poor John McCain will probably have to sell one of his houses just to keep his head above water. It's not so bad for the poor: after all, they're used to it. PJMolloy, Dublin My Lord, no wonder you think the US media is right wing. If this type of story represents your news sources, EVERYTHING is to your right, even the left-wing media.
