Just a quick render of a loft bedroom. This is a WIP and still needs some tweaking, furniture, and additional lighting. Overall I am fairly please with the progress. I do not like the textured walls but it was a must for the client. The top of the steps leads to a huge master bath (16'x20') with the frosted glass window over looking the bedroom and reading area.

Comments are welcome. Modeled in Sketchup and rendered in Vray.

      Best regards,
      Scott

        Good start Scottpara.
I suggest rendering it again without the bump (applying a bump can make the appearance of objects look darker in some cases) and see how that turns out.(you can always apply bump again later on)
If the walls still appear dark try to brighten the wall texture (220,220,220 are good RGB values for a 'plain' white color).
Maybe you can also decrease the texture size on that walls, but at the risk of seeing a repetitive pattern showing up.

          Kwist,

Thanks for your reply. I agree that this still needs some work and thanks for the advice. I think once I add some more lighting and furniture it will help to add some more depth to the image.

          Best regards,
          Scott

I think your rendering looks great, Scott. The texture on the walls looks great - it wouldn't be my choice either, but if it's what the client wants....I think the blurred reflection is a nice touch.

            My avatar is an anachronism.

I would like that texture only if it were on a ceiling, it looks like those popcorn ceilings. I definitely would use it if I had it, could you post it?

Thanks guys for all your input. I am actually rendering this at some pretty crazy settings right now over the weekend. I will post the image on monday. As far as the wall texture I would never do it on the ceiling. I hate popcorn ceilings and they have really come out of fashion too. I will post the texture on monday for you though.
