Hi all...I haven't posted anything on here for a long time...thought I would share this concept that I came up with for a Shoji Lamp.

great works.
what preset did you use in KT?Thanks!
I used the "kitchen" hdri global, plus an omni light for some shadows, and rendered it for about 160 passes on #19 Metropolis Light Transport. -
A Blue Meanie that loves music
I was wondering what would have happened if the Beatles had teamed up with Sony to produce a transistor radio as part of the merchandising for the 1968 movie Yellow Submarine...here's one idea.
I used Inkscape to create the Blue Meanie, SketchUp for the model, Kerkythea for the render, and Photoshop for the DOF effect.
The radio is loosely based on an actual pocket radio that Sony produced around that time.

RE: Modeling and rendering (update 2013.08.02)[watch last page]
Beautiful...can't see anything that doesn't look perfect!

RE: Green Toaster's Car Sketches
My all-time favorite thread on SketchUcation....glad to hear you are doing well, Brad. I bet your classes are very popular!

RE: What is your favorite overall rendering engine for SketchUp?
How can anyone vote on this unless they have tried them all and compared them? Furthermore, how do you define "Best Overall"? There are so many factors to that; price, speed, flexibility, SU integration, support, etc. etc, and what is important to me, being a hobbyist, is certainly different than the needs of someone rendering for a living. I just don't think it is a valid poll...

That's a cool looking vehicle. So this was really manufactured? How about some normal SU shots of it, would love to explore it more.
I don't think it was ever manufactured, it was a concept by the artist Roger Dean.
If you'd like to take a look at my model, you can find it here in the 3D Warehouse:

There's probably one of them being driven around Second Life at this very moment

Hillman mini jeep
I made this model about a year ago and was playing around with styles the other day...thought I would share it here...

RE: 4GB Patch
I just became aware of this patch, and came here looking to see if anyone has tried it out... FYI I did some more searching around and found a recent comment from John Bacus, Product Manager at Google SketchUp (he has a Google+ account btw) responding to a posting on G+ regarding crashes and the suggestion to install this patch, here is his comment:

I'd be interested to hear more about the situations you've encountered where SketchUp is crashing because it ran out of memoryβ we do monitor user-submitted crash reports ("Bug Splats") closely, and poor memory management isn't usually the root problem. Probably there is something else we can do that will really help to improve SketchUp's stability for you.
I can't tell what the patch you recommend is actually doing, but other similar-sounding patches I've run across are attempting to set the "Large Address Aware" flag on the executable. All current versions of SketchUp already have this flag set.

RE: Last work
I like the silhouette concept, but the rest of it is too sterile for me. I would not want to spend much time browsing there, and I certainly would not want to sit down and read anything...it reminds me of a elementary school library.
I like book stores with lots of wood, leather chairs, brass fittings, etc. Maybe it's because that is what I'm used to since it's been the standard design motif.
It is a nice render though, and clearly communicates the idea!

hi everyone,
may i ask you all about the IES in Kerkythea?
is there a way to add a button or icon to represent inserting IES into SketchUp model with KT?
sorry for bothering you all with these questions. but i can see that all of you in this post are indeed Kerkytheaerthank you in advance.
This question should be posted in the Extensions and Applications forum.
I've never used the IES lighting, but this link may answer your question: -
RE: RMS Titanic - By Elissandre Rodrigues
I remember seeing this model in the Warehouse. Awesome work Elissandre, and thanks for sharing it with us.
I believe this year is the 100th anniversary of the sinking.

RE: More doodles
Please start doodling on the other days of the week too, and continue to share them with us - they are wonderful!

RE: Inside Death Star?
You picked the best image to post!
Incredible...and so sad to think of how much work went into building all of that and now it's just apparently rotting away. -
RE: Apple 'threatens legal action' over Steve Jobs action doll
That is probably the most realistic likeness I have ever seen in a doll!

RE: Have you had a model stolen?
I'm kinda bummed out because I just checked Turbosquid and none of my models in the Warehouse have been stolen.
Guess I just don't make the cut....
