I really like the style of your renders, very dramatic

RE: Living Room WIP
Holmes 1977, thank you for commenting. I am not 100% sure where the curtain model came from, I have had it a while. But best bet would be the archive3d website. Yer AO probably should be more defined, I usually render it as a separate file so I can then edit it in PS, however to save time I didn't on this occasion.
Stefanq, thank you for commenting. Already got light portals in the windows, and had adjusted sun size to 2, maybe I should go a bit higher.I think your probably right about the lighter being a bit low, which is probably one of the causes of the shadows being to dark. Going to tweak the camera settings a bit more and increase the sun size some more like you mentioned.
Cheers

Living Room WIP
Had a bit of spare time on my hands, so decided to re-open an old project.
So far only floor and window glass textures have been applied.
Going to start applying rest of textures in the next couple of days.
Still need to adjust light settings, shadows are a bit harsh in my opinion.
C & Cs appreciated.

RE: Does this plugin exist??
Hi Tig, works a treat : )...no more having to wait for a report to generate.
I am forever in your debt, if you ever need any modelling or rendering done, send me a message. cheers

RE: Does this plugin exist??
Hello Tig,
Please find SKP file attached.
What I can possible foresee complicating things is that they use different cost attributes, as you so quite rightly pointed out.
In order to get a cost for the lengths of ducts I have used =(LenZ*cost)/100, where as all other components are just a figure.
If you can provide me with any sort of help at all I would forever be in your debt.

RE: Does this plugin exist??
Hello Tig, simple for you maybe , but thank you for getting back to me so quick. As soon as I get into work tomorrow I will upload an example.

Does this plugin exist??
I am looking for a plugin that allows me to get a total cost of all dynamic components within a model, without having to generate a new report each time.
I have applied a cost to each dynamic component, what may make it more difficult is that there are at least 10 components nested within each component.
I design heat recovery ducting systems and generating a report each time we make a change becomes rather time consuming.
Or if anyone can think of any alternative workarounds it would be greatly appreciated.

RE: Entrance hall + staircase -- study [second edition]
All very good, but 15 is with out a doubt my favorite

RE: Kitchen render
Thank you for the comments, as for the the background view I think you are definitely right this needs to be improved. With all the PS it ended up getting a bit distorted.
Will try and do another revision over the next couple of days and post it on forum.

RE: Superfast Isolated Test rendering?
I some times use the override materials option on my entire model, apart from on the materials I am wishing to render where i untick 'effected by override material' within the material editor. if its an interior scene remember to have any glass also unticked otherwise you will end up with no natural light coming in

Kitchen render
Another render, this time part of a set of renders I am doing for a client.
Created using sketchup, vray and PS .
C & C welcome

RE: Final image
Hi Brodie and Jeff,
Thank you for commenting. Having now stepped back from the image and taken on board what you've had said, I definitely agree with you. I think I overdone it it with the unsharp mask.
As for the grass, that's a very useful tip, cheers brodie Seems rather obvious now, you've pointed it out.
The water is maybe to dark? and shouldn't have so much displacement. It does look more like lake water.
I had planned on putting this piece to rest....but may now have another crack at it.
Cheers

Final image
I have previously been adding updates to this image within the WIP progress thread. I now feel I have done it to death and should really be getting on with paying work. So here is the final image.
Created using sketchup, vray and PS.
C & C welcome.
ps. sorry for the low res image, I'm a very impatient person and couldn't be bothered to wait for a larger image to render
