Not a dumb question at all!
This tools allows the analysis of solar access in one point (inside or outside buildings).
It presents a view of how your point sees the sky (and the sun), in a way that you can asses in one unique view when that point is lighted (directly) by the sun during the whole year.
First, draw the path of the sun using the SunPath Tools.
Second choose Target Tool:
--Look at >> will define the point on the sky that you are looking at. It will be the center of the screen. To start just leave the default [December 12:00], you can rotate your view afterward to see different parts of the sky (see help file).
--Select the point for analysis >> just prepare in advance a point in the space that you would like to check. Inside a building it can be a seating position, if you want to check glare sources; outside buildings it can be an open space, or a solar system....
