Great and bad news at the same time. I wish we had it now but its good to know that it is coming. Will you be able to render these animations with some of the plugins like vray or podium?

Sketchy physics help?
ijust started playing with the sketchy physics pkugin and it is pretty interesting. I was wondering if anyone had any good tutorials for it? Also can you set up scenes/ keyframes for these animations? Can you even ouput an animation with his plugin? Please let me know if yOu can cause I would really like to learn how to get better. I've seen biebel train animation and it seems like he used khysics... Right? Anyone know how he did it? Look forward to any response. Thanks

Much agreed with many others, this is great work for straight SU outputs. Great details and modeling and nice style.

Rendering Companies & Websites List?
I was wondering if anybody would be interested in starting a list of professional rendering companies and websites? When I do my work and as I continue to try to learn more, I am constantly checking out forums, but I am also looking at some professional rendering/illustration sites and companies to compare my work and to gauge where I am at right now in my career and where I want to be. I think it is a good way to see what the professional world is doing and offering, as well as to see examples of bad work. If anyone thinks this is a bad idea then please say so, but I just thought it would be helpful to people like me that want to make arch. viz. their career. Thank you for any responses and I will definately include what I find. Looking forward to seeing where this thread heads.

RE: Living-room Bar
Stefanq, very nice and simple rendering. I like the bump on the floor. Good work

RE: My latest image
Great work, especially how you incorporated the person into. PS? Stunning

RE: Commercial Exterior
Do you mean how do I make it look real with all the reflections and that ? If so, you need to use a rendering engine for that. I use v-ray but there are many others. I suggest podium for beginers...cheap and easy to learn. But, straight SU cant give you a finished rendering like that. But thank you for the comments. Feel free to ask if you have any more questions

RE: Terrain renders
Very nice solo. Im not sure if you do yet but do you think a diffused reflection on the street material might help?

RE: Barcelona Pavillion (yet another one):Fry
Yeah Biebel ive been messing with after effects too... very powerful tool. But did you download or purchase any rubys for camera paths? and even simple object animation?
-
RE: Barcelona Pavillion (yet another one):Fry
Looks kool biebel. What post processing program do you use to put that all together? And what rubys do you use for the camera movement? And stinkie....does it really have that much of a toll on your electric to let renderings run?

RE: What is the future trend for rendering?
Im not sure if I am experienced enough but here is my opinion anyway. The market around me (pittsburgh, pa) does also seem to be moving towards architecture companies doing their work in house. That is how i got my new job actually. And my girlfriend works at a drafting company that does 3d work as well but they seem to be hurting a little. Am I gonna say that there is not any work out there, no, not at all. You need to make contacts. As for the industy getting easier and more accessible to the masses, this is true with programs like SU, but if you have the artistic ability and willingness to continuously learn, you will be able to make it. Lets not fool ourselves, this is artistic talent. Sure anyone can model if they want to but it takes skill and a good eye to really sell an image and make it convincing. Just think, if you are fairly caught up with programs and just the industry itself, you are ahead of the game. Yeah the programs are getting easier, but having the head start makes you so much more versatile and able to learn knew programs as opposed to somebody picking this stuff up just right now. If you want to be in this industry, you can be. Its a game of learning just as much as doing actual work.
And as far as the future...I dont know if anybody watches this but I watch this show called NextWorld on the discovery channel and they were talking about being able to digitally send models to firms or customers and they would have something like a mat on a table that recieves the information and constructs and actuall model of particles or whatever right in front of them on a conference table or something. They could literally touch this model, make changes, and send off to wherever they want. Real physical models....it was amazing. I may be getting ahead of myself, but it was awesome. It was like having a digital piece of clay.

RE: Form Fonts and Other Downloading Packages?
First, thanks for all the info guys. I think I am going to go ahead and push my company to purchase the form fonts membership. I continuously use sites like archive3d and archidom but the poly counts just kill my computer...but thats a whole other stoy cause I think I can get them to purchase a beast for me ...any instight to that would be great (consider i use vray for the most part and do want to do animation)? I do at times feel like a cheater by just dragging and dropping all these models and just rendering them but that is where the industry is at right now. Dont get me wrong, I do plenty of my own modeling because you will never find everything that you want for free, but places like form fonts gives you a quick way to detail a room with little objects that make your scene come to life...i think that is what people miss in a lot of their renderings and that is why they may have a hard time making them look convincing. But in the real world, you just dont have time to model every little detail and to do it as well as a lot of the stuff on FF. But if there is anything else that anyone could suggest for me to look into purchasing...please fill me in. I feel I have a good grasp on what is necessary but I know there is a lot out there that other people know about that I dont. I mean even considering buying a package of HDR images will be necessary so anything from anyone, please. Thanks again though guys.

Form Fonts and Other Downloading Packages?
I finally got an actual title at my job as an architectural illustrator and with that came some freedom to purchase some packages and tools, so im just trying to get some feedback to see what other people prefer....Keep in mind, I primarily use vray for rendering, but I also play with fry and podium.
-Form Fonts: This looks like a great membership but i know that you pay for a year's subscription and I dont know what happens after that...does the library of models that you download disappear or become inactive after your subscription is up...or do you have them to use forever after you download them once?
-I know plenty of texture and clipmap websites, but what does everyone here think is the best buy for useful clipmaps and textures
-Xfrog: ive seen some people use xfrog trees, but are they worth in people's opinions.
any other good stuff that anyone would think of that would be useful is greatly appreciated. Im just kind of putting together a shopping list and want to make sure I get the best buy. Thank you in advance for any help.
