RE: 3D Trees

Hello Dave,
you are right - and this is kind of a disadvantage...
...although in rendering you will not see the edges, and of course you can switch off all edges and profiles in styles - but then the whole model would be without them.afaik there is no easy way to hide all profiles and edges, but I might be just unknowing (hopefully, please someone point to the right method or plugin)
cheers
alexYou can organize your tree and put leaf edges on separate hidden layer - see attached example.
Select all leafs by material then deselect faces and put edges on separate layer ... or choose hide command ..This plugin should be helpfull:

Thanks for bringing up Tree(d) again. I already abandoned it because the of the limited export formats - but I just realized that I didn't have the newest version.
So for anyone who is scratching his head like I did:
Download Tree(D) version 3.1 because in v3.0 there is no obj-export available.
Now it works with TIGs obj-importer, but for some reason the materials don't get imported.
Any idea what I am doing wrong here?Textures must be in the same folder together with exported *.obj and *.mtl files.

RE: The new Render[In] plugin
Really beta beta ..version.. 3 bugsplats during half an hour when trying to render few not very complex scenes

And again, nothing included what users asked for a long time. One huge dissapointment and my choice is now 3ds max. Google you suck!
3ds max - US$ 3495,-
SU8 Pro - US$ 495,-
SU8 Free -US$ 0,-........

Interesting work,
Exteriors look a little washed out for my taste. I would like to see color tweaked a little (grass, sky) and maybe a little more contrast.
Interior on the other hand looks a little too dark and gloom.
But I think it is nothing Photoshop can't fixI wanted them to be a little bit "washed" but these are first shots and you are right - it deserves more care and tweaking...
Interior was rendered with preset unbiased interior mode - about 100 passes. I am sure it would look brighter and finer after 200... 300... 400 ...
Definitely I will try later -
House - actual project
My actual work - I am experimenting with workflow:
VW09 BIM 3D model -> exported via 3ds format -> imported into SU -> model simplified + repared + tweaked -> Twilight render
Trees are made in Tree[d] and imported via obj
Grass is generated by Makefur plugin
Trees, grass, house + building site model are separate files inserted into master file via TIGs Xref plugin

Couldn't resist a quick render.
Nice! Could be fine to add some crew. I wasn't looking for a canoeist figure in warehouse but there must be some

Very cool model, look forward to seeing some renders.
How did you pattern the disks on the nose mast?
I used only materials availible in SU and Twilight templates. Nose mast material is brushed aluminium (a little bit tweaked)...

RE: Render This - Chair Loft
Chair loft chair party
Twilight + Metropolis light transport/50passes. Ceiling was accidentally hidden so there is more light than in previous scenes.
