tadaaaaa sketchup 7.5 lol
just teasin. Listen guys, in the end, sketchup is sketchup, we do what we can and even stretch it capabilities, and in the end...its probably the community that makes sketchup a better program. If it were not for the rubie script writers, to whom i bow, this would not be so super. What is nice tho, every one can sort of customise what they need and only load that into their su. i think its awesome. alot of programs dont allow you to be that flexible.
To su 7, its not bad, even thru all the time we waited, it still turned out to be a better version of su 6, a bit faster tho, graphics was the first thing i picked up, cleaner and nicer look to the models, and maybe down the pipeline...so other needs will be filled.
From me to su 7, and yea i made some harsh comments, they made it better
and thats prob in the end... all that counts.

RE: Google Sketchup Pro 7 is out
thanx coen for the clarification.
I did not gave up on su, i love su more than any other 3d application on the whole market hands down.I am just a bit sour, and yes, im geting the blue eye for the team who feels the same, but do not want to say that. Yes all these features are awesome, and i love how these programmers bended sketchup so it actually could do sooo much more than enyone have ever expected it could go. I also understand where you come from, and i do not have issues.
i just wanted to see this happen, and it never happened, we needed that soo much and its just sad. I even made jokes, saying..wow i just hope..maybe su 7 will come out while im working on another high poly model, high poly support and dual core processing would be so great. I love its simplicity, (having these features would nt have changed any of its simplicity, just so much more of an awesome program) thats all.. i can stand up and say at least 50% of this forum would aslo say, its would have been so awesome if that was programmed into it. (in the end, we dont want to use multiple programs to do awesome stuff, why not stick to su all the time) -
RE: Google Sketchup Pro 7 is out
just sad that no one care about this...

RE: Google Sketchup Pro 7 is out
%(#800000)[Guys, gods, programmes, and eager fans!!!!! whyyyyy!!!
i lying on the ground, and really still cant understand why..
We provve to google it can do it, we proove to google, this program can push boundaries quite far, and all we asked was for multi core and higher poly support. And what do we get...a program with plugins all these fabulous people already made. these were the main issues, why not look at them, but instead make so much of a fuss not saying nothing about how the progress, how this program will perform, ect. Im soo dissappointed. Hearing that this is not happening, i didnt even bother to download it. Now people will turm more and more away to other programs, even to bonzai, because they seem to be doing the same, but their programs can handle more punch. why chase away their supporters. We do not all just build crappy blocks for google earth to show a client hey this is how yours building will sit in a city ect. Yes its a nice feature, but we wanted more. We broke our backs to ask for it. If its no better than su 6, not faster, why should we download the demo, or buy it. If someone from google themslef can explain this to us, i would be really grateful. (if im out of line here, sorry, but im really upset)] -
RE: Tudor Village
i really love this village, seen something like that on your website too and this type of if cou van call it "world" really is a cool thing to build. just one question...do you ever sleep????

RE: Silvershadow's eye candy 1: The river runs thru it
Hi Coen
hee hee i think we all just have to wait and see whats its gonna be. sorry guys
The thing about last time, it will definately not be my last model, its just doing these candy models is actually a real hard process, saving each day as a seperate file as you progress and try to document youre every move, where the normal way is just, build the model, and post it. But again, ive learned this is ACTUALLY the proper way to demonstrate youre model, so yea, i would not say it will be part of candy, but probably more similar stuff. -
RE: REQ : Equally spacing
hi this is a screen grab how vectorworks handles align, and distributing, for anyone wanting to build something like this for su
-
RE: Silvershadow's eye candy 1: The river runs thru it
hit there
All the candy series was an experiment to see how far i can push sketchup untill it folds
So to be true to the program, i had to use only sketchup for modelling. The first candy was not really intended to be rendered, but eventually got rendered in vray and a little bit of photoshop. The candy 2 model went the same path, all 100% sketchup, no elements were build in another program and then brought back, because then it would have defeated the purpose. Renderd in maxwell, vray, and fryrender.
2008 i will start my last candy, trying to push sketchup for one last time, building everything in sketchup again. I hope it will be bigger and better and at least ten times more intense than candy 2. But we all have to wait and see -
REQ : Equally spacing
is there a plugin that can space a series if ojects evenly from each other, also maybe one that can align a series of objects that has the most amount of objects on a side?
so for eg: you have 5 blocks..4 of them are almost aligned...but by using this tool...it will align all of them to the side where the 4 objects are almost aligned.
Just a thought...could be nice to have. -
RE: Silvershadow's eye candy 1: The river runs thru it
like the old fashioned way. Create a alpha of your render, or just cut out the background via photoshop.
so you will have a model which has no background. Then just put a mountain image in behind the model. -
RE: Silvershadow's eye candy 1: The river runs thru it
hi there, thanx for the comment, i only use sketchup. My profession is to build models for an architectural firm all day quite nice
been using sketchup for 3 years. My primary render engine i use is mainly Vray for sketchup, been using that for a year an a half -
RE: Silvershadow's eye candy 1: The river runs thru it
updated the list in the start, have put a render in the list, for those who havent seen the render, or dont want to go that far down paging thru the pages to find the render.

RE: Silvershadows eye candy 2 : BLACK HAWK
To: TWTM
Hi there, to be honest, im not too much of a subsmooth fan, so on this project i only used this once, and that is on this image below, the rest is just plain smoothing built into su
(i didnt even know vray had a bug on that ) -
RE: Ephemeral Thoughts
Nice models, good job
Listen i want to ask you a question, how did you achieve such smooth curved surfaces. I know you can do it with splines, but even with that, it kinda is no easy job to get this really smooth like that.
Can you maybe share use how one of these objects were being made? -
RE: Condo's
%(#BF8000)[hey solo, nice work, i more and more begin to think you're the master or vegetation. The last post of you did which also had a lot of trees in, really amazing. well done, always like to see your work. ]

RE: Just Nature !
nice work biebel!!
Listen, is it possible you can show us a tut how to build this realistic grass effect, maybe throw a texture or two in for us to experiment with, pretty please. -
RE: PLEASE HELP
yea im doing a high poly model at the moment, but without his tools, this would have been such an headache to do cool stuff.
My most favourite tool ive got in my collection is:
This tools on surface, havent used sub divide a lot, dont really like it that much,
joint push pull, vector push pull.
and another cool tool is line projectionThose ones i use SO much, i kinda think my sketchup will be boring without it.
