Might get my hands on a Dell Precision Worksation 530 (1.7GHz XEON, 2x 256MB RD RAM) soon. Will let you know how it compares with my current machine (P4 Northwood, 3.4GHz, 2x 512MB DDR low latency). Hopefully I'll be able to get another CPU and some more RAM for the Dell, but I think it'll be as scarce as hens' teeth, especially the RD RAM. Hoping to use it purely for rendering.

wow... y'know, now that I've come down off the ceiling and stopped sputtering like Donald Duck about this whole "migration" thingy, I was questioning my decision to pull my attachments- at least a little bit. Now, not so much.

Modelhead -- When this same topic came up earlier in the Google's SU forums (The thread is here) the article talked about how the system could use electricity to run the motor as a compressor or switched over so the compressed air could generate electricity. In that other thread I wrote about how maybe a variation on the systems could be developed to generate electricity from the tides. I was thinking about Canada's huge tides on our Bay of Fundy area near where I live.

The $1,564.37 USD price for pre-orders is rather expensive. Still, it is very cool. I like their 12-button panel they say will be available in 2008.

Actually I was eluding to the realism of the video. I felt like I was there. Plus I have been to Camp Sumatanga in Alabama quite a few times. A methodist camp. While it is not as upscale as your project, it felt like I was at camp again.

Oh, yeah, sorry Ron - actually I expect to be quite free with my stuff - I had planned to post it all to the old forum once I had the job finished - some might actually remember my toaster with the render and toast that I posted as a teaser a couple of months ago. I am not concerned about giving and not getting, I'm not concerned about my stuff being used willy-nilly - I would be pleased as punch to see that my stuff was good enough to be used in some of anyone's work in here... i guess I'm just concerned about bandwidth and storage. I had 198 things posted on the old forum and never blinked an eye - but If we all post our crap right away - how terrible if we crashed Coen's site - and being so conciensous, I could think that he would pay out of his own pocket to continue for this month if we made the traffic too high. I will post when we are sure that we aren't going to hurt Coen - but till then - email me or pm me and I will email the parts to you.. probably wouldn't hurt to post an image at least though I guess - maybe tomorrow..
