I would just start with a circle with however many segments you needed, which would depend on how closely the model is gonna be viewed. The view below was zoomed in pretty close, the more that you move the view out the less noticable the difference between the two circles is.

That might be the best way - Hey, If I'm already striping 6 segments why not 48. Once I cook it all in Podium it will probably look just fine.
      UPDATE EDIT:
Here's how I finally did it...

      1. DREW a 16 segment circle - PULLED to 4" - Turned on GEOMETRY to determine vertical segments.
      2. Used LINE DRAW to bisect each of the 16 Segments.
      3. GROUPED, COPIED and PASTED on top - ROTATED to line up stripes.
      4. COPIED these two and placed on top - REPEATED until it was the height I wanted.
      5. MADE IT A COMPONENT. Edited and painted the stripes.
Did a quickee PODIUM render and it looks okay.
        Thanks for the help.

Okay...let me try this another way.
Is there a way to stack hexagons, make them a group or component - draw a circle around the base that touches the hex points and then 'pull or bend and pull' each hex side to the circle shape?

      Hey Alpro...
The post By Boofredlay is the closest to what I am looking for and was kind of on the same wavelength. Assuming I used stacked striped hexagons to get the stripe happening I was wondering if there was a way to then round them into a cylinder.

    • Striped cylinder...

      Greetings all,
How can I model a cylinder with a stripe similar to a barber pole?
Is there a way to convert stacked hexagons that are striped like a barber pole into a cylinder?
      Thanks.

      cheers,

    • RE: FredoScale for Mac

Sorry, but I am a at a loss on this one. There are so many changes to files and Mac bug fixes I'm swimming.
So far I have downloaded 'Lib Fredo6 3.4' and 'FredoScale 2.Oh' - unzipped and added the 'Lib' file to the SU7 Plugins THEN dropped the 'FScale' folder into that file.
All I get is an 'error load' message.
I've loaded a ton of other plugins without a prob... not sure why I'm losing this battle.
      Dazed and confused.

    • FredoScale for Mac

      Saluti...
I've just tried to wade through the 27 page FredoScale post and it's quite daunting (for me at least) to figure out what I need to do to install this amazing Plugin on my Mac.
Is there someplace where I can find the latest downloads and directions regarding the installation.
I'm using SU 7 and have several plugins already installed so I do know where they go and stuff like that.
      Thanks.
