Extension Update Grabby (1.0.3)

What is New…

Added cursor to FaceGrab and EdgeGrab.
Changed some toolbar icons.
Fixed bug that prevents activating another tool with just one click.
Fixed ShrinkGrab bug that left selected edges behind.

Extension Update Grabby v1.0.1!

What is New...

Changed the Extension Name from EdgeGrab to Grabby
Apart from the EdgeGrab tool we now have FaceGrab and LoopGrab.
Shift Key will deselect edges or faces depending on the tool.
Fixed a bunch of bugs too big to list here

I hope this is a step in the right direction. If you have any recommendations let me know.

Extension Update Grabby v1.0.2!

What is New...

Added two new tools named ExpandGrab and ShrinkGrab.
Now we have Animated Gifs showing how the tool works.
And other small upgrades to the code.

LoopLab has been around before Thomthoms Quad Face Tools.

I have dug it out of the grave because I am planning to work on it and make it better.

I usually release a plugin as an MVP and slowly iterate or pivot depending on user feedback or my own.

Grabby is a set of tools that help you select entities in more precise ways.

Tools Overview:

EdgeGrab uses your mouse as a brush to select edges.

Click & hold the mouse button.
Hover over the edge entity you want to add to the selection.
If you hold SHIFT key it will deselect edge.
Press Esc key to exit tool once you're happy with your selection.

FaceGrab uses your mouse as a brush to select faces.

Click & hold the mouse button.
Hover over the face entity you want to add to the selection.
If you hold SHIFT key it will deselect face.
Press Esc key to exit tool once you're happy with your selection.

ExpandGrab expands the selection by one more polygon.

ShrinkGrab shrinks the selection by one more polygon.

LoopGrab selects edges that form a loop.

First, select a single edge for connecting loop.
Make sure the edge is part of a quad face.
Activate the tool...
And, if all went according to plan the loop should be selected.

Tools Overview

Hex Brush Tool

The Hex Brush Tool paint faces with #hex color values. You can click & drag mouse to continuously lay paint to the SketchUp model.

Hotkeys...

Press the 'Alt key' to toggle the Hex Sample Tool.
Press the 'Shift key' to quickly access Hex Input Tool.

Hex Sample Tool

The Hex Sample Tool will pick the color value of face entity to paint with.

Hex Input Tool
The Hex Input Tool allows you to enter a #hex color value to paint.

Hex Magic Wand Tool

The Magic Wand Tool selects connected faces with the same color.

Fixed in CompoScene v2.0.2

Web Dialog will not appear if exit button is pressed.
Message Box asking ‘Do you want to Exit?’ after clicking outside the CompoScene UI will not be displayed now.
WebDialog has been modified & resized.
Module names have been changed.
Changed require .rb which bypassed the extension registration system preventing users from being able to disable the extension.
Now when you delete all scenes the style kept is the one in the first slot.
The default page is created with the style used before creating channels.
Fixed Save button from being hit without the export button being active.
Fixed bug that activated transparency on jpg resulting in white background on the alpha channel.
Updated Extension Info as well.

Important!
Delete the previous version of CompoScene before installing the new version to avoid problems…

Go to Plugins folder and delete:

MiSU_CompoScene (folder)
MiSU_CompoScene.rb

CompoScene is in continuous development and since I am a solo developer it’s helpful when I receive feedback on what to fix or add next.

Hello SketchUp People,

Excited to share my latest #SketchUp work…

The following three renders took me about a week of work to finish. Tools used SketchUp Vray + Photoshop.

a lot of people have this fear, for good reason, but consider that your credit card probably has fraud insurance built into your service fee for it

I don't handle credit card information myself.

Instead I use Stripe or Paypal to make the process as secure as possible.

For not doing any postprocessing I think your renders are good, but for me, photoshop is a vital process to make my work presentable.
