    • RE: Roman Theatre in Cartagena (Spain) Work in progress

Don't worry, the photos I have are not the best (and they are not mine ๐Ÿ˜ž ), but I have the text ๐Ÿ˜‰

      Both altars.

      http://img120.imageshack.us/img120/9633/dsc0532iq9.jpg

      His brother:

      http://img172.imageshack.us/img172/9844/dsc0316ks8.jpg

And in this spanish forum, you can find a lot of photos of the recently opened museum (including the source of theo ones I have linked here) ๐Ÿ˜„

      Text:

      C(aii) CAESARIS. AVGVSTI.F(ilii)
      PONTIF(icis).CO(n)S(ulis).DESIG(nati)
      PRINCIPIS.IVVENTVTIS
      [L(ucius).IVNIVS.L(ucii).F(ilius).T(iti) N(epos). PAETVS.
      [SAC(rum)]
      [D(onum)].D(edit)

Dedicated to the children of Agrippa and Julia, the "young princes", to which the theatre was dedicated.

I think that another altar with the name of his brother is lost. Something like "L Caesaris. Avgvsti...".

In fact, the Frons pulpiti is resolved with the 3 known altars to Jupiter and... I don't remember (Minerva?). The 3 principal gods, in spanish "triada capitolina", the 2 altars you have seen now, and another 2 similar altars. I haven't linked photos to the 3 altars to Jupiter and company.

      The other altar:

      L(ucius) IUNIUS L(ucii) F(ilius) T(iti) N(epos)
      PAETUS
      FORTUNAE SAC(rum) D(onum) D(edit)

      Small update:

The spanish (I believe latin) name is "Ara". It was found in the excavations.

You have a render here (the letters are too bright, sorry):

      http://i33.tinypic.com/2hq5t0z.jpg

And you can rotate the model here:

(You know, that plugin to export the views to web).

Aaahhh... Bugger... Sorry about that... ๐Ÿ˜ณ
I have Acrobat Pro and have thereby no problem converting to 3D PDF documents... ๐Ÿ˜

Unfortunately I can't check it today, but I'm sure that there's another free pdf-converter with 3D support that can do the job... Let me check a few things... ๐Ÿ˜‰

In the meantime, you can use Deep Publisher to include 3D models in your PP presentations, which is also a very handy feature... ๐Ÿ˜‰

As I don't use sketchup for work, I don't earn money and... you know. ๐Ÿ’š

I enjoyed a lot that software. Personally I think that even the new version is a bit old today. It's a terrain editor with raytracing. But I learned some interesting things.

Does someone have a quick way to convert the generated list of coordinates in the page:

      http://www.zonums.com/gmaps/terrain.html

      to UTM?

It is not related to sketchup, I need it for my work. (I have the tools to convert it, but just one point at time).

It would be interesting to see the plugin in action in my models of roman theatres. If someone does it one day, of course.

Gaieus, I was looking in Google about your presentation of Archeology in 3D Basecamp... and I suddenly discovered this:

(I am always ashamed when my name appears in a newspaper, usually it happens when I win a prize of something ๐Ÿ’š ).

I hope you don't mind for putting the link here ๐Ÿ˜‰

    • RE: The English Language!

I speak a bit english. So I can let you know my opinion about how difficult is.

I don't know what a eggplant is. Probably if you plant an egg, it gives you chickens ๐Ÿ˜ฒ

You write Shakespeare, but a spanish pronounces it "sekspir" (ยฟยฟยฟ???)

If someone suddenly begins to speak to you something like "marrugeision jolliguan weingรผidins ojara disbroken maraguichis okei", you have two possibilities:

      • He is speaking in english.

      • He is drunk.

      • Both previous at the same time.

I have discovered that my english pronunciation is much better when I put inside my mouth one or two stones ๐Ÿ˜†

I hope it helps to find a better way to teach english.

The explanation is in this video. But unfortunately is in spanish ๐Ÿ˜ž

      http://es.youtube.com/watch?v=AZ9PNK3AEN4

Well, it's fun, but you are not going to understand a word. In fact "El Gran Wyoming", a spanish comedy tv presenter, is laughing at Iker Jimenez (another television presenter of occultist themes) , when he told the same dates that you have said. In fact EGW has a lot of coincidences of the spanish presidents of that kind too... and you began to laugh ๐Ÿคฃ
