New to it, sort of...
Hello all,
I've used this forum a few times previously but never said hello. Returning to sketchup after not using it for some time. I'm looking to improve my sketchup skills and hopefully make some interesting models in the future. All my models are fairly basic at the moment but as I attempt more complex models I've no doubt I'll be on here for help Been looking on the gallery for inspiration, some great stuff here!
Anyway, look forward to using these forums some more in the near future.

RE: Curve shape
Thanks for taking the time to help I still can't get it to work so i will attach the model to this and you will see what i mean. If you could explain how you would go about fixing it so i can then do it myself and learn from it that would be great.

RE: Curve shape
OK, thanks for the helpful replies. I have another problem. I need to make 4 holes through a block. I make the holes and then extrude them through to the back face as I normaly do and the front face of the tube is not hollow. When I delete the circular face, it also deletes the whole of the shapes front face. How do I make the holes go right through the shape? In the picture I have pushed the circles from the front face which you can see and they are hollow, but the front circular things won't delete. Thanks

Curve shape
Ok, I've made a shape and it sort of has a rounded area on one face (I'm not very good at descriptions). I used the arc tool and made the 2 curves on the shape, the arcs are identical and exactly facing. However I can not get the area between them to fill, how do I do this? Heres a picture, it had to be cropped a lot to fit.

Applying textures
Right, I know how to apply textures to an object on it's own but when I try and apply a texture to, for example, a wall of a house, the texture is applied to the wall behind it. Is there any simple way of applying a texture to a face/surface by selecting it somehow first? Sorry if this has been asked numerous times before.

RE: Roof problems
Thanks all, managed to solve the problem. Got another now though lol. I'm working out how to design a bike frame on sketchup and want to know how you would go about extruding a tube at an angle from the side of another. I would also like to know how you would make the diameter of a tube progressively smaller as you move down it. Any help would be appreciated!

RE: Roof problems
ok here it is, I drew the floor plan then added the textures then created a rectangle on top of the building which will be the roof. Not sure if this is a good way to go about doing things but im kind of experimenting with the features at the moment.
