Not a problem--tomorrow's the first day of the week, so you could start a new pair.

"Know thyself" in Greek...hmmm, yeah ok. But I was pretty sure it was something like, "Hey man, eat my shorts," in Hungarian.

I guess even I occasionally make an error.

      Csaba,

      Congratulations on your newfound notoriety.

Also, I must say, you have suddenly become strikingly beautiful. My compliments as well to your cosmetician.

Incidentally, the Google language translator does not seem to know Hungarian. Perhaps you would be kind enough to tell us what the quote at the bottom of your signature says. I'm guessing it's something spoken by Bart Simpson on his recent visit to your country.

    • RE: Need help big time!

Upon reflection, it occurs to me you might also want to try msconfig. This is a Windows system utility that you can invoke with Run > msconfig. It consists of a tabbed dialog that gives you access to a number of startup options. The last tab lists all the programs and services that run when you start Windows, and gives you the opportunity to disable them. You may see a suspicious-looking program (or several) that you recognize as part of the icon toy that messed you up and just uncheck it or them, deactivating it.

    • RE: Need help big time!

      James,

You might want to give the Windows Tweak UI Powertoy a try. It's got a module called Rebuild Icons that might work for you. If you're not familiar with the Windows Powertoys, they are a series of system utilities created by the Microsoft Windows development team and offered as no-cost downloads from the MS website. Tweak UI offers a number of useful enhancements, mostly Registry hacks, through an Explorer-like interface.

The XP Powertoys are available at: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/down ... rtoys.mspx

    • RE: Walking is good!

Seven years ago, I lost 50 lbs on the Atkins diet. The Atkins diet is about controlling carbs, you stay away from breads, pasts, sugars etc but you can eat proteins and fats. It is very counter intuitive but it works. I weigh myself almost everyday so that my weight does not sneak back up. Every couple of weeks I will consciously go back on the diet for a few days and loose a few pounds before my weigh gets out of control.

This has worked for me. My weight crept over 20 years and I hated it. I had tried exercising and it would work for I while and then I would go too far and hurt me knee or get tired of it. Just trying to control calories didnโ€™t work either.

      Good luck, ๐Ÿ˜„

      Great Site!

I hadn't been frequenting the SketchUp forums much lately, so the news of the change caught me by surprise. It's great to know that somebody out there was willing/able to pick up the ball that Google dropped and run with it!

      Thanks to Coen and All!

    • Introductions

      Hello all,

My name is Tony Kessler, I was introduced to Sketchup by a a co-worker nearly two years ago, after using primarily Autodesk's AutoCAD.

I work at Zartman Construction as a Draftsman/CAD Operator. I use Sketchup primarily for our design and presentation drawings when I have an opportunity.

Ron Smith invited me to join the forums so I could learn more about using the program.

I hope to contribute however i can and learn more about the program.

So you're saying it's a commercial posting on a public website, designed to generate revenue.

Frankly, it sounds like spamming to me. Or like the "sponsored links" everyone is so indignant about at the old forum.

What I really don't understand is why you saw fit to mention it in this thread.

And the real bummer is that guy, or gal, doesn't get an answer, at least right now.

Google Groups seems to have resolved their server issues, although they were certainly having problems yesterday.

Since I have already been exposed to the Google Groups cooties many times with no noticeable ill-effects (although I realize that dulled sensibilities may itself be a symptom) I can swing by and confirm that your guy or gal has been answered. What was the issue or the name of the poster?

    • RE: "Imperial Rome" is migrating from the Pro Forums

Talent like this makes me sick - stop it immediately! ๐Ÿ˜‰

      LOL - absolutely fantastic guys.

I love 3D historical reconstructions - especially of the ancient world when only ruins remain (or sometimes nothing at all). I love history and I think 3D forensic architecture like this really brings the subject to life...

Funnily enough, one of the reasons I got into SketchUp is I had the idea to re-create our local castle. The castle is a partial ruin (destroyed during the English Civil war), and every time I visited I would think 'I wonder what it looked like inside when it was complete?'

I am just about at the level of SketchUp skill where I think I can do this project justice - it's taken me a while to get here, so I REALLY admire work on teh ancient Rome project.

      Kudos to you guys!

oh - and PS - Lewis, did you used to play keyboard for a 70s British band called 'Sparks'? ๐Ÿ˜‰

    • RE: Modo renders

I will be doing mostly architectural stuff.
The nice thing with Modo it can do modelling
      and Artlantis can't do that.
Have to wait till animation comes out.
      Thank you again.
