Lately (and due to my old age I don't recall when this started happening), the input fields in the 3D Warehouse (when viewed directly from SK8 Pro) are now with a black background with black text. Not helpful. Once you have done the first search everything revert back to normal black on white until the next time you launch the 3D Warehouse browser. Is anyone else seeing this ? Is this happening because I am on a Mac?

RE: [Plugin] CleanUp
Will wait in eager anticipation. If there is anything I can do to help please let me know.

RE: [Plugin] CleanUp
Ok, did a complete reinstall of Sketchup Pro. Installed only your Cleanup plugin. Same problems I am afraid

RE: [Plugin] CleanUp
Will reinstall Sketchup later on today and let you know what happens.

RE: [Plugin] CleanUp
Have updated my system specification to include the 10.7.3 update we got from Apple last week. Sadly I didn't know about your plugin prior to Lion so I can't comment its stability then but I agree it is most odd that other users are not reporting/seeing these issues. I am reasonably certain its not the way I build my models in Sketchup. The one I sent you a while ago was not odd in any way I don't think ?
Please let me know if there is anything I can help you track down what is going on here ?

RE: [Plugin] CleanUp
I have now updated my version of Ruby to the latest (1.9.3) and these errors still occur. Just for your information.

RE: [Plugin] CleanUp
I don't restart Sketchup after these errors occur I get more and different error messages, like this one:

RE: [Plugin] CleanUp
Attempting to repeat the cleanup process on a second model yields this error:

RE: [Plugin] CleanUp
I will have a go at reproducing the error. I seem to think it happens after several consecutive runs of the cleanup script. Will get back to you as soon as it happens again.

RE: Sketchup 8M2 speed and instability
Thank you for all the advice. Will try the plugin removal first and see what happens.

Sketchup 8M2 speed and instability
I use the Mac version of Sketchup, have done since version 6. Perhaps its me thats getting old and slowing down but it appears to me that this latest version is the slowest yet. Simple operations (opening files, saving files, imports, etc) seem to take a very long time. Is my perception of time warped or even sprained or is M2 really slow?
Stability of M2 is also poor. Using TIG's cleanup plugin I get crashes to desktop (often without the Google error reporting box). Repetitive renders with the latest Shaderlight also cause crashes to desktop.
I don't think I have a hardware issue, 2.93Ghz Core 2 Duo, 8Gb of DD3 RAM and an nVidia GT130 video card.
Anyone else think that M2 is slow and a little unstable ?
-
RE: Sketchup clock/time
Funny you should say that....
I still don't understand what TIG means about only doing my Sketchup modelling during daylight hours ? The wierdo mad script to set the shadow clock to real time has no effect (on my iMac) to the Sketchup editor.. it doesn't go dark, I don't see glorious sunsets or sunrises...
-
RE: Sketchup clock/time
Now I don't feel quite so mad anymore and I hope all those people who declared me insane
will give me a reprieve
-
RE: Sketchup clock/time
Perhaps its just me being rather weird again but surely this time change only affects what you see when you render ? I has no effect whatsoever on what I see when I am drawing in the editor. So why is this such a daft idea ?
Interestingly the suggested script yields:
Error Loading File #TimeNow.rb
/Library/Application Support/Google SketchUp 8/SketchUp/Plugins/#TimeNow.rb:6: parse error, unexpected $, expecting kEND
file_loaded(File.basename(FILE)) -
RE: Sketchup clock/time
Awesome. I accept you think I am a bit strange.. I figured that out a long time ago
Thanks for the advice and the script!
-
Sketchup clock/time
I know this has most likely been covered already but my Sketup Pro 8 date and time sliders always default to 11/08 and 1:30pm .. What I would like is to have my system time and date there instead. I have looked through the preferences and can't find a way to do this. Am I missing something really fundamental (most likely!) or is this "just how it is" ?

RE: [Plugin] CleanUp
Specifications of software and hardware...
I am using Sketchup Pro 8.0.11751 on Mac OS X 10.7.2. Hardware is a iMac 2.93Ghz Core 2 Duo with 8Gb of DDR3 RAM. Video card is an Nvidia GT130.
TT_Lib2 is version 2.6.0
Hope that helps.
