Thanks again Fred for your continued support on my question...

I am hopefully going to spend some time this weekend processing all that you have written and try to get some test files created...

      Thanks again,

      Hey Fred,

Finally had a chance to go through the video you created and had great success... Thank you SO much for creating that tutorial for me...

I am going to keep practicing this...

My next desire is to create curves and circles on the TIN surface and "bend" those...

      Thanks again,

    • Creating Rope - More Explanation Needed

      Hi all,

I am interested in creating some rope-like looking cables...

I found this tutorial on the Google site:
      http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/details?mid=a1d0f59bb2a6325d1672893bc20b4763

I understand the concept behind the helix spirals and the Tube Along Path script... I have successfully completed this on a "straight" spiral... However, can anyone explain to me how this person "wrapped" the spirals around the centerline to create the "rope"???

TaffGoch seems to be a very talented individual!!!

      Thank you very much,
      Mark

That is EXACTLY along the lines of what I was thinking of creating, Fred...

Do you have a tutorial on how to create something like that???

      That is awesome!!!

      Thanks,
      Mark

    • RE: Wanting to "Bend" Objects

Thanks for your quick response, Alan...

I see what you mean by using the Sandbox and I have read up on that Ruby script and will download soon...

Couple more related questions for you or whomever:

The screenshot I sent was quite basic... What if I had a more complex shape (not created yet just in my head) like a 3D circuit board (copper traces are "pulled" above the green board) or something not necessarily "rectangular" (like a star or oval or something)...

How would/could I go about "bending" something like that???

      Thanks,
      Mark

    • Wanting to "Bend" Objects

      Hi all,

I have been using SketchUp for a couple weeks doing very basic tasks (built a couple speaker boxes and whatnot)... I am now trying to expand my horizons and do some more complex things (at least for me)...

I have a series of "trinkets" that I have built and I am now wanting to "bend" them... Below is a screen shot I took of one of the "trinkets"...

What I am ultimately trying to do is find a way for me to take several of these "trinkets" and "bend" them to look like they are hanging or flopping off the side of a table or something like that... Figuring out a way to "bend" them in a "J" or "U" shape would be cool...

Thanks in advance and thanks for this awesome community board!!! I am excited to be part of it now...
