    • RE: Tips, Ideas, how to get this surface printable

      Ok ok, i understand.

So i spend a couple of more trys to make the surface solid and modify it with JPP but i failed.

I tried the blue one (J) in JPP.

So i decided to try something new, a friend ask me, isnt it possibel to create this shape with surfaces instead of lines?
And i tried it, and surprisingly it works. Not quite as expected but it works (i have to modify a lot of auxiliary lines inside curviloft before generating the shape).

Now i have a solid shape where i have to drill holes in it. Unfortunately i didnt have the Pro Version, so i tried Fredo6´s VisuHole Addon but it is not sufficiently exact.
However BoolTools² did a awesome job, but its not for free...

Any suggestions for other Addons who works similar as BoolTools²?

See the pics for progress below.

      Greetings

      Hi TIG,

      many thanks for your reply!

Im ansure what you mean with the "DaveR method", if i ask google for, i just can found topics about woodworking.

So i tried to scale it, but its the same result like i get with the unscaled object.
      See the pic below.

So this surface isnt able to modify correctly with JPP?
Whats the way to go now?
Create a simpler surface and try it again?
      Use other Addons?
Maybe a different way to create it, with other addons (without curviloft)?
      Or a completely other Programm?

      Greetings,
      Christoph

      Hi Guys,

first of all, sry for my bad english, its not my native language.

I have a question to you, can you help me with some ideas or a workflow to get the attached surface printable?
This surface is created with curviloft and i already tried Fredo6 Joint Push & Pull to give his a thickness around 0.75/1.00mm, but it doesnt work.

      Thanks,
      Greetings,
      Christoph

Edit: i have forgot to say, thats not a fix surface whitch i needed, it can be modified if necessary.

The goal that i would reach is to be able to draw Canopys for Quadrocopter like this one https://dqzrr9k4bjpzk.cloudfront.net/images/7780508/534771313.jpg
