      Roger,

thanks for your comment. That was my intention and I am glad to read that you have that feeling viewing those renders.

Experimenting with all that lighting parameters is still new stuff for me, that was my second model where I used it... I begin to love playing with that, really.

      Cheers,
      Franziska

no, it isn't... it is a roasted piece of someone who dared to critisize some of my work... πŸ‘Ώ but - mum's the word! 😎

    • RE: Xyz-information...

      Wo3Dan,

yes, that is obvious. but as I use a lot of cascaded components/groups in my designs, the queryfunction in the tools menu seems to be the easier way to me as I do not have to edit three or more components just to get the xyz-info. However, it's good to know that there are (different) ways one can go...

How I do stay so skinny...? At the very same moment where you stop looking I stop eating - that's the trick. It works... πŸ˜‰

    • RE: Xyz-information...

      yes and no, Gaieus...

you get the xyz-information in the text dialog only, if you pick an endpoint that does not belong to a group or component... otherwise you get the name of the group/component as text template...

nevertheless, that hint was something new to me, as I usually do not work with text labels. Thanks!

    • Xyz-information...

      hi @all the ruby guys...

maybe a silly question but as I am not in the ruby stuff:

is there a script available which allows me to see the XYZ-coordinates of a selected endpoint? Or any other way I missed to get that information?

Thanks for any hint or solution...!

    • RE: Art Terminology in Modeling

I am not an artist at all... but just want to agree with Ross. It's nearly the same with me with the design process... When working on it I tend to "live" in that model with all my senses... During that stage I am usually not interested in specific presentation aspects at all. I can put myself in any corner of the model in my mind and simply "know" how a view from there will act with regard to masses, dimensions etc...

When finished modeling I take a deeper look in those corners and start to experiment with light and shadow, varying colors, maybe placing some additional interior or exterior objects and so on to get a result I like in view of atmosphere and composition...

sure. next pic will show me in the shower. πŸ˜‰ By the way, one bathroom has been integrated into the master bedroom, so one can watch his/her darling taking a shower without leaving the bed... 😎
