RE: Decent spec for V-Ray PC
I use Autocad, SketchUp and Twinmotion (real time renderer from Unreal) and Photoshop. I don't use V-Ray, but I know Twinmotion is very demanding as a real time renderer.
System I have deals with it no problem (videos as well) and my spec is:PROCESSOR: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X CPU, 6 Cores / 12 Threads, 3.7 - 4.6GHz
Power Supply: Corsair RM650x 80 PLUS Gold 650W PSU
GRAPHICS CARD: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 12GB Graphics Card
MOTHERBOARD: ASUS ROG STRIX B550-F Motherboard
COOLER: Corsair Hydro H100x CPU Cooler
Thermal Paste: Arctic Silver 5 Thermal Paste
Memory: 64GB DDR4 3200MHz Memory (2 x 32GB Sticks)
OS Drive: 500GB Seagate Firecuda 510 M.2 PCIe SSD
Hard Drives: Seagate 2TB BarraCuda 7200RPM Hard Disk
Windows 11
Warranty: 5 Years Warranty, 2 Years Collect and Return UK only
Total: Β£1800 (including VAT)
I don't want to mention the company (I don't want to promote anyone here), but you can pm if you want. They are UK based.
I am sure others will chip in here to. -
RE: Best Way to Model These Stone Details
Thnx for the replies guys. I think it will have to be hard surface modelling, no LIDAR option with this one. Its not the Rock of Cashel Rich (I know it well, only few miles from where my family are from). I will take on board your ideas and make a start. I will let you know how its going in this thread.

RE: Best Way to Model These Stone Details
Thank u for the quick reply Dave. It will be used in a rendered animation, like Twinmotion, with opening doors to enter the castle. The original model may be stored as well as a reference model too or further projects. I have yet to get more interior details, but I would like to make a start on it if possible. I also have front stone steps with balustrades to do but those are pretty straight forward to do.

Best Way to Model These Stone Details
I have an up and coming project for an OPW managed heritage site in Ireland and I was wondering how or what would be the best way to model some stone details. I have attached a couple of images I have, one with all the details and doors that must be modelled and a second one with a little closeup of a particular detail. Everything has to be modelled with reasonable accuracy (all stonework and doors). What u think?

RE: WIP - A Car Park Project
Good job Like the lighting too. Car is floating a little on right back rear wheel I noticed and going uphill a little in second image (pink ). Minor details

RE: Modelling a tramway
Great work I am testing it out too, its big improvement. Loving the HDRI skies especially. Its preview version of Twinmotion 2022, so I am sure they will keep updating and fixing it. You need 6 GB dedicated memory (minimum) graphics card and 16gb ram minimum. Ideally you want 12GB grahics and 64GB ram for high end work. I cant use path trace on mine at the moment as I need to upgrade
