Tom's right, ethically it is a grey area but you are in a win win situation.

That kind of puts us in the US to shame after watching this one
That's filmed in Paris, France, not the states. You can see the Eiffel Tower in the background. Incidentally, cool soundtrack.

RE: Adobe 3D? With Maxon's Help - GFXreview
We were discussing this on the old SU forum a few months ago. Sounds interesting but Adobe's record with 3d apps is strange. They have bought several but immediately shelved all but one. That one was called being Adobe Atmosphere, released as a beta, but scrapped shortly afterwards.

RE: What are beer prices in the US like these days?
I have some clients that I draw up pubs for. I think there is a slight north south divide on beer in the UK, in the north traditional beers are more popular, in the south, with the exception of real ale, lager is more popular. Remus is right; the epidemic of chain bars is apparently making it very difficult for the traditional independant pubs and small breweries to stay in business.
Where are you in the UK Remus? As for pricing, I live in Hull, not that far from Dylan's town, the best beer in my local pub is Jupiler from Belgium or Budvar Dark, both about Ā£2.20 a pint.

RE: Caffe bar help
There are several cafe bar models in the 3d warehouse.

RE: Rooibos -- South Africa's gift to good health...
I love Rooibos tea, "Tick Tock" (used to be called "Eleven O'clock")is my favourite brand with particularly good forties style packaging. Could I also recommend two other tea's worthy of the tea connoisseur? Firstly "Dr Stuarts" Wild Fennel tea. It tastes amazing, packaging is a bit generic though. Secondly and more importantly, but extremely hard to find "Celestial Seasonings" Sweet Almond tea. If you have a sweet tooth this tea is ace because it tastes really sweet but not sickly, it's like a dessert. Also if you are tyring to shed a few pounds, almonds contain a chemical that suppresses the appetite. Also 10/10 on the packaging; persian textile and woodcut prints.

RE: A fun little game.
Granted you join Southern English band Circulus, a septet who lay claim to being Britain's foremost medieval-influenced progressive psychedelic folk band. Yeah your cool now. Maybe you can dress like the guy at the back with a cape and a horses head. Your parents will be proud!
I wish Sketchup was a religion so that I could tick it on forms that ask what your religion is. Sketchup the religion would have mad cult leaders and clandestine ceremonies where people would slowly chant "Push Pull,Push Pull". Opposers of the religion would be bugssplatted.

RE: A fun little game.
Granted, women are replaced with SU. Hmm strange how not many women contribute to this forum.
I wish I could justify starting my working day by playing this game.

RE: A fun little game.
granted but the maid is a cross dressing 40 stone former docker called Ray, who is clumsy and breaks stuff.
I wish I could find the true sole of the internet. Is it just porn and this forum?

RE: A fun little game.
Granted but you are the therapist and your couch is set up in a public place
I wish I had a robot draughtsman to deal with the work I've been putting off.

RE: A fun little game.
Granted but it causes a tear in the space time continuum and you revert to that period of human evolution when we'd just crawled out of sea.
I wish I still had hair

RE: Are you 'good'?
I've had CB model pro for a while, it is very simple to use but hard to do things accurately, you can bring models into sketchup via obj format. I think Moi is better but tha's just me.

A useable forum!
Hi all
It feels fantastic to have found a useable forum, just like the original corner bar. I'm sure Google mean well but I cannot get to grips with the Google SU forum.

RE: Sketchup prehistory
As for Google Earth and SU (hope this isn't too off topic), the Kmz and Collada SU exports make this easy. Commercially though, providing a Google Earth building modelling service is tricky. There are 2 significant obstacles that I hope Google will eventually address;
- Most clients wants to see their properties appear instantaneously and permanently on Google Earth, the 3d warehouse route does not guarantee this, if your model is approved, it can take months to show up on GE and then it is only in "the best of 3d warehouse" layer, it may never appear in the default building layer. Google want quality but surely the easy way to get quality is to make the modelling service commercially viable. Second Life, Twinity, Virtual Earth allow instant upload.
2.Google Earths policy on what is classed as unacceptable advertising is unclear. I cannot find out if it is acceptable for a 3d building to have a corporate logo on the side of it.
