Ah, I see . Well then, lets see how fast I can make a team .

      Edit

It looks like I'm gonna take Marian in my team .

Currently the tub's and regulation boxes aren't quite ready, they are done, but we are double checking the legality to ensure it meets all regulations πŸ˜„

I posted my f1 hack about 6 months ago , I think it was titled F1 car (dean legg)
      Would this qualify ?

      Sounds a good project

Hi Dean, it must comply to 2012/2013 regulations, so I don't think your old car will comply, however we can supply a pre-assembled tub to which you build bodywork around+ suspension + regulation checker and build the bodywork within boxes we supply to you.

So , the cars need to be strictly F1 cars or any other cars will do. For example I haven't modeled any F1 cars(actually I think I modeled one like 6 years ago, but I don't have it any more ) but I have a couple regular ones which I would like to see how would perform on a race track .

Let me know about this and I might get in .

Thanks and have a nice one !

Hi yes it is f1 based, we will supply regulation files (boxes to build your cars within) in the coming weeks, and we can supply a pre-assembled tub to which you build bodywork around, if needed.

      Hope this helps

You should post this in another forum I go to regularly.

      rFactor 2 Development forum. http://isiforums.net/f/forumdisplay.php/41-rFactor-2-Mod-Beta-Forum

the modding section or in the base forum would be good.

Thank you for the suggestion, the great thing about this is, it isn't about how good the car looks, but how good the car performs aerodynamically, the mechanical factors are all set the same for every car and we take the Centre of pressure, Coefficient of Drag, and Coefficient of Lift as the deciding factors for the sketchup f1 models.

And if you then want to use the cars for a game such as R factor, you can, and you will know how it performs realistically too.

yeah do the humility thing. but we all know that it takes skill and patience to model anything like that 56. And you've got like a dozen more at least. That Ford coupe? to die for.

anyway I signed up for the site. I'll pull something out for the competition.

we do recommend that people enter as it will be informative and fun, please follow us on twitter @KVRChallenge πŸ˜„

for those who know f1 regulations, the 2013 regulations - from what we have heard in the media is that the regulations are staying the same but they disallow a secondary function of the Drag Reduction System on the Rear Wing.

space for improvement but you can learn with us, we have a support team for people looking for advice on how to make the models for those who enter the championship with a team πŸ˜„

      Hmm... I might like this...

Very nice modelling-extremely high quality, here is a picture of an example car which has been made by Nicholas McDowell, it would be nice to have you onboard, you should sign up

    • Khamsin Virtual Racecar Challenge CAD/CFD Competition

I am posting about a CAD Racecar Championship - a Championship has been set up which runs on Khamsin CFD to create drag/ downforce data for f1 cars modelled In sketchup. Khamsin CFD is a program Developed by Hibou Scientific Software for aerodynamic simulation of objects created in sketchup/ other CAD softwares. I am aware that there are many talented modelers on this forum so hopefully some of you may have an interest in this too.

      http://www.khamsinvirtualracecarchallenge.com

It is not a team management game or a driver management game, it is all about the aerodynamic performance of the f1 cars, the cars get ran on CFD of a period of a week (takes around 10 hours per car) and then the CFD data is put into a program called the Virtual Stopwatch, created by Competition Car Engineering, which generates laptimes from real car data from those tracks combined with the aerodynamic data from your car, there is a trial/test race scheduled for the end of November for car submission if you want to try it.

The programs which the cars are judged upon are: hibouscientificsoftware.com.au and competition-car-engineering.com

      Thanks for looking! πŸ˜„
