    • RE: Questions about soap skin plugin

      Hi Dave,

Yes, I did look at that, but I didn't find it especially helpful. I guess I just need to play with it more, but I was hoping that a few pointers might speed up my learning curve. I'm still having trouble using "undo", which makes playing around with it even harder.

    • Questions about soap skin plugin

I am new to using the soap skin plugin, and most of the video tutorials skip too quickly through the instructions.
My first question is what is the significance of the X/Y ratio, and how do I know what I should try.
The other frustrating experience I'm having is that "undo" or "ctrl z" doesn't seem to work with this plugin, so I have to start from scratch every time I don't get it right.

    • RE: Bookmatched woodgrain

Thank you. Don't know why I struggled with this initially, but I've got it going now.

    • Bookmatched woodgrain

How do I create bookmatched woodgrain? For example, I have side-by-side cabinet doors that have bookmatched (mirror image) grain. I have tried unsuccessfully to make a component of one door and flip the image along the red axis, which gives me the look, but I can't seem to work out how this texture is applied to the other door. I know there must be a simpler way than what I am doing. I have looked for this topic on the forum without success.
